no longer real
just a memory
floating around
in the back of my mind

no longer alive
but still
causing me pain

Outside Life

While walking through
that jungle of concrete
that I call my home

where all the houses seem
glued together
and the cars honk
at the j-walking civilians

where the billboards and ads
scream to you
from high in the air

I stop to think
(in all that hustle and bustle)
what life is like
outside of this place

SHHH!
don't bother me
I'm lost in a book

mixed up with
the complicated plots
and outrageous characters

when i'm lost in a book
I don't have to think
about my life

a fantasy world
and never
have to come back
home again
