Black or Gay

Black or Gay
by Alex Lewis

america is for everyone.
Free to be is what is done.
Unless, you're Black or you're Gay,
Then america hates you each night and day.
Never to change is what I fear.
More than hate: (more than cheer :)

Some(no) Bodies

some(no) bodies
by Alex Lewis

Alone and Together met one day.
Alone made some friends, if you may.
Alone) is together(is together.
Alone's new friends are some Hims and Hers.

Alone and Together separated one day.
Together was alone, by the bay.
Alone) is together(is alone
The same difference is shown.

The Red Man with the Black Shadow

The Red Man with the Black Shadow
by Alex Lewis

The Red Man wore a black shadow.
As he grew high, he sunk low.
The Red Man is not a man at all.
He is as short as he is tall.
An elephant is the Red Man.
It is less than greater than.
The elephant is mad because he is tame.
The Red Man is gone, but the shadow will remain.

Emotional Affair

Emotional Affair
by Alex Lewis

I fell in love with Happy tonight,
But I've done what's furthest from the right:
I've had an affair with Sad.
I know that Happy will go mad.
After all I've done
by 3, by 2, by 1
Happy will be as sad as thrice,
Which means we'll have sadness twice.
All that's happy will be gone,
And it's all my fault for doing wrong.

Strange Words Travel by Tongue

Strange Words Travel by Tongue
by Alex Lewis

Strange words travel by tongue
A lesson learnt at young.
If this is how strange words fly,
Then how do normal ones travel by?
By plane? By boat?
By horse? By goat?
By ear? By eye?
By ground? By sky?
Unless, all words are strange.
Thus, shortening the range
Of good and bad.
Of sane and mad.
Of old and young.
All words travel by tongue.

I Swam Through the Land

I Swam Through the Land
by Alex Lewis

I swam through the land,
But realized it wasn't grand.
After swimming through the soil,
I realized I was being disloyal
To the water I used to walk upon.
I had got up and I had gone.

I walked on the water the following day.
I waved to the clam, alone on the bay.
It wasn't all that great,
not too far from my hate.
After swimming through the ground,
I knew walking on water was not profound.

Tell Me That Hope Called

Tell Me That Hope Called
by Alex Lewis

Tell me that Hope called.
Let me know that He rang.
If He didn't, I'd be quite appalled.
I might cry like a swallow sang.

I need a glimpse of peace.
I need a glimpse of light.
Can't you see this is my caprice?
Hope called! (I hope I'm right)

I'm desperate for Hope!
I think I need Him now.
Don't tell me 'no! ' Don't tell me 'nope! '
Tell me 'yes! ' or I'll turn foul!

For if He didn't call,
I might loose this day.

You Can Have the Future

You Can Have the Future
by Alex Lewis

The present is malicious.
difficulty=delicious
We will to Hell be sent
If this is only the present.

What is the future if this is present?
Peace must have come and went.
Why should mankind advance?
He started on his last chance.

The present is so bad
That the years just add and Add.
In the future, what will become?
We cannot reverse what is done.
You can have the future.

You can have the future.

Father(less) Day

Father(less) Day
by Alex Lewis

Today is Father's Day-
So joyous and so gay!
Unless you're me,
Very sadly.
For me, it's Father(less) Day.
He died three nights ago, I say.
Don't pity me, give me none!
If it were up to me, his death would not be done.
If you commit suicide, there's a lonely funeral.
No one will pity you for wearing red before the bull.
He killed himself; I don't notice he's alive.
Such selfishness and stupidity would get none to revive.

So, today
I will say
It's Father(less) Day
For me and for me (alone) .
