Oh, Moon
Moon so full
That can always find
Ways to make itself whole
And never fall behind
Moon so whole
How can you lose a piece
So quietly and gracefully
Tell me your secret, please
Moon so wise
Only one who has seen
All the truths of this world
Tell me what has been
Moon, oh moon
Tell me that one day
When I leave this place
You will show me the way.

Beauty and the Candlestick
Even beauty must have light
To wander through the darkness of night
Or else she may stumble
Although the light be dim
It will become brighter with him
Even when the storm rumbles
The darkness will not hide for long
Beauty will have its song
Even if it must be a mumble
The light's heat will burn the tips
And it's wax will cry and drip
Leaving beauty to be humbled
But find that light and she may
Find he's waiting as he lay
Hoping his beauty will not crumble.

Fate's Fool Day
Life brought you back to me
Seems like so long ago
When we were together
And when you had to go
Never thought that pain
Would sting so badly and scar
But seeing you with her
Was the worst pain by far
A vision that should've been
Me inside of your arm
But her shining smile and finger
Only did more harm
Fate has a cruel sense of humor
To mock me right to my face
To bring your happiness and
Success right to this place

Water is Gold
Water is precious gold
A treasure to the land
And the throne on which
People sit upon the sand
Mosaics of velvet grass
Pinks, oranges, purples blend
Scent of salt and floral
Perfumes among the men
Waves of blue hair
Sway in mother's breath
And bend to her tears
Until there is nothing left
But hope comes anew
When the sun returns
And heats up the soul
Until the passion tide burns

Little Broken Butterfly
Little broken butterfly
You can easily fix those wings
All those tears and scars
Can be healed with cloth and strings
Don't be afraid because
All wings grow back anew
It will be no different
Especially for you
Those beautiful colors
You should proudly show
Taking people's eyes to another world
To places they've never known
Aw, little butterfly
Still so scared to fly again
If you don't test those wings
They will wither to no end

Black Carpet
He is coming over here
Does that make you sore?
That's so confusing
When it never did before
All of a sudden this falls
And I've no clue where from
And I have yet to figure out
What it is I've done
When she's gone, all is well
Especially when she returns home
Suddenly I leave and
I get the other tone
Where is my welcome mat?
Still rolled out for her?
Is this what I have to expect
When I leave forever?

New Found Sympathy
The dust is all that's left
To this lonely room
A few boxes remain
But they'll be gone soon
The pictures that formed the wall
Now belong to the trash
And all the pretty fixtures
Have long been detached
The house that held sunlight
Now only emphasizes gray
Rooms are no longer shining
And I wish it weren't that way
Lonely and empty is this house
But it's not the only one
That lost it's cheer and happiness
Where it's brightness has gone

Beautiful Broken Butterfly
Butterfly, you flew away
And at first I didn't know
How each hard day was
Straining on you so
Little butterfly, so fragile
With a wingspan of compassion
You flew with swift emotion
While I was grounded by my ration
Small butterfly, I know that
You can do it, when you flew
Because I have seen that
Longing freedom deep down inside of you
My lonely butterfly, my dear
Can I call you my own?
Or were you meant only to
Be free to forever roam

Reach Higher
Believe that roses will bloom
Around its crusted, frosty bloom
Believe that wings will onward fly
Even if flames should fray its ties
Believe that the sun will shine bright
Even if it needs to fight off the night
Believe that hands will continue to hold
Even if the heart is left in the cold
Believe that time will for a moment stop
Even if it be after all the tears drop
Believe that the snow will always be chilled
Even through the rays of heat filled
Believe that the heart will keep its beat
Even in the harsh encounters it will meet
Believe that the ink in the pen will keep flowing
Even after the poet's words cease going.
