A Lesson In Pain

pain is a weapon of self destruction
pain should be kept to yourself
wave it around for others to see and your only generating more pain
pain for sympathy?
theres no honor in that
fight your pain
dont let it control a single action
dont wallow in it
feed your pain and you are lost
if you love, love honestly
while u live, live realistically
no fairy tales. reality.

A Lesson Learned Along The Way

love vs happiness
they aren't the same
but its not one or the other
there is an order to things

ive loved and let that be my only source of happiness
held on to that rope so long my hands are just calluses
love cant be everything
it will be the end of you
first you must be happy alone
in the life God has given you

This is the hardest lesson
I have had to learn
'All in'..a poor investment
Heartbreak..the love fool's return

Your love is not your life
that is a young man's game

to the girl who gives me butterflies
two years it has been
i am the luckiest
of all of the men
ive wished you good morning
planted a kiss on your cheek
your love has come a pouring
ive been in bliss every week
the beginning of each day
the end of each night
i say thanks when i pray
for having you by my side
my heart youve been a stealing
my head you have a spinnin'
yet i have this feeling
this is only the beginnin'
