I woke up picking my footprints
in the reminiscent sands of time
To the era of frolicking unabated
with my youth in it's prime
The existence were so much simpler
the future never worried about
Infatuations seemed eternal,
sans qualm or any doubt
The charted were the courses and
when winds had nearly aligned
An unexpected typhoon smashed through
all earlier that was designed
Changed got the direction and

The Backward Glance
The youngest of the progeny from
the noble souls long since gone
The one propounding freewill
since metamorphosis has undergone
Got bequeathed with older siblings,
having perspectives gone awry
He stuck with convictions and
unsolicited advice did forever decry
The past love got embroiled in naiveties,
to be carried along the surge
He kept questioning the rationale
but no answers did ever emerge
A bundle of joy from the earlier union

'Adieu' my dear friend
as I feel inconsolably forlorn
The loss has been personal,
secluded I stand and mourn
Never could have imagined
the hasty exit you would opt
Denying me those measures
for your tending I would adopt

Phobias
All but none is inflicted
with trepidation of the unknown
With susceptible visions of phenomenon
to which they forever feel prone
A few dread the past
that in future might return to daunt
Several are scared of imminent events,
If present those come to haunt
Many embroiled in anxieties of
not possessing sufficiently adequate
Others who are abundantly bestowed
have desire for more to accumulate
A lot enslaved by insecurities
which purely are by self design
