Gen The Witch
The witch broods
In the middle of her self-centred, self-limiting
Tangled web of lies, half-truths and self-deception;
Ventures forth only to capture and envenom the unwary, the unknowing.
Their minds ingested by the witch,
Her progeny, indulged in baubles, chocolate and late-night television
Are ever by the maternal sac
Imbibing further indoctrination and instruction.

I can't give you any love tonight, Baby;
Hope you'll understand the reason why, Baby;
Working hard, adrenaline charged, Baby,
Bringing home the gravy just for us, Baby.
Hold me tight, hold me close, Baby,
Let me sleep within your arms, Baby;
Hope you'll understand the plight I'm really in, Baby,
When I can't give you any love tonight, Baby.
Next week, next month, this year sometime, surely, baby;

Gen Ocean of Life
Cockleshells of Life are we,
Braving storms of tempestuous seas;
Riding the breakers, clinging on tight,
Rolling awash, praying for light.
Into the doldrums, gasping for breath,
Thinking at times, better 'twere death;
But the thrill and the skim of a bright windy day
Chases such sad thoughts far, far away.
Come weather foul, come weather fair,
We'll give of our best and do what we dare;
Keep weather eyes open and show that we care
For other sea-farers whom met here and there.
Throw life-lines if need be, drink some good beer,
Sharing what's there of all kinds of cheer;
Then wait in the offing as long as seems best
Till called to the harbour to take a good rest.

Hum You Have to Get Up
You have to get up;
I don't want to get up.
Why don't you want to get up?
I'm very comfortable where I am, thank you.
You have to go to work;
I don't want to go to work.
Why don't you want to go to work?
Because there's too much work at work, that's why.
You have to go to work to pay the bills;
I don't want to go to work to pay the bills.
Why don't you want to go to work to pay the bills?
If I pay bills this month I shan't have any money to pay next month's bills.
You have to get up;
I know, I'm getting up.
Where are you going?
I'm going to see an astrologer.
