A divergent path from the path I chose.
A strong wind blew me around a strange corner.

I lost all I hoped to gain.

Never trust a wind or a path.
And certainly never trust your own stumbling feet.

The Path I Knew

A quiet, calm forest.
A smile never seen
says come, now come.

And feet that I once had that are no more
yearn for a path I knew once
but that was before.

The smile fades,
and she turns to the sobbing shore.

The rain -
It froze on it's journey.
The deep red rose sparkles like glass.

And my heart...
will never melt.

The sun appears.
The leaves cry.
The trees cry.

But my tears are frozen -
And the rose dies when it melts.

A Wag And A Paw

That tail wags my heart you know.
There's a leash from my heart
to that little heart - quick beat.
Sweet stepper.
Loud voiced pixie.
Twinkling trouble maker.

Don't say love is fleeting.
Love is a wag and paw at my feet.

Too many words.
Tangles in a jumbled mind.

One moment a raging hurricane
the next a little breeze

hurrying these last few leaves
down a dark deserted street.

He did not say he loves me.
He loves the way I am.
He loves my voice.

But he doesn't love me.

You laughed loud and free.
Such a sound was joy in the past.
Distant past.

Now it brings sadness.

For in that one brief moment,
in that one brief sound,
you are the person I loved once.
You are the person I once knew.

A Sure Kiss

I want flame's sure kiss.
No hesitancy from that bright truth.
Bright love.

No thought or fear.
Surging ahead to oblivion
and smokey fate.

Touch me fire.
Let me feel the hand that takes,
and claims.

And with a crackling laugh,
accepts it's own.

I'm home.

Still Dear Heart

When that touch came to claim I let it.
I'd let it still Dear Heart.
But it's a still, still dear heart.
It doesn't beat for me.

Let my heart beat yours back to the pulse it had once
in response to mine.

If not, then not.
At least...
This once dear heart has tried.
