Broken

Surrounded by people, yet so alone,
Wishes for someone to call the phone,
No trusted friends, a broken family,
Pointless life is wandered through idly.
There is no hope, there is no love,
No purity and no white dove.
Tears well up in the corners of eyes,
But is blinked away with a longing sigh.

Never stood up for, never belonging,
Heart beats the song of the longing.
Feels useless and lonely,
Drowning in the dejected sea.
Understand that this person is broke,
When at her open wounds you poke.

A Sad Smile

I look upon my Nanna's shallow form,
Her sunken eyes show an unending storm.
Tubes stuck in her arms, neck and belly,
She strains her eyes to watch the telly.
To breathe for her is a machine,
I know to see me she is keen.
Ulcers in her stomach lining,
Bleeding skin covered in binding.
She's had fifteen heart attacks in a week,
It's no wonder she cannot even speak.
I put on a plastic gown,
And go to her, not wanting to frown.
She smiles at me; trying not to cry,
I beam back, hoping she won't die.

Cry For You

Your eyes are glistening with unshed tears
I've watched you grow through all these years
I can't comfort you, I don't know how
Though I wish to stop your pain right now
You're tears are refused their right to shed
Your thoughts are locked inside your head

You are imprisoning all of your emotions
I watch you just going through the motions
Water from my eyes begins to dropp
Because I can't make your pain stop
You won't show weakness, you'd prefer to be dead
So during your pain, your tears for you I'll shed

Bloody Eyes (Sonnet)

Deep in the darkness horrors lurk
Horrors of a homophobic racist jerk
Horrors of a life destroyed by family
Horrors of person who wanders idly
In the darkness there is no hope
For he has wrapped his neck with that rope
He is prejudice and mean to others
But to me he is like my only brother

I love that jerk to pieces, he can be so kind
I love his bravery, his intuitive mind
But in his darkness I see such pain
He thinks in life there is nothing to gain
My wonderfully horrible cousin doesn’t cry
Instead I see a trickle of blood in his eye

Peculiar Boss, Eccentric Employees

In fascination, I once came across
A rather peculiar type of boss
He had yellow hair and a pink skirt
Orange pants and a purple shirt
Said I, quite wondrous,
'Isn't your clothing quite amiss?
Shouldn't you be wearing a suit? '
He smiled and said 'That's quite moot
For why should I wear that horrid suit,
When I could look colourful to-boot? '
So with a quirky smile I said,
'I think I'll join you instead! '
Now if you join our office you'll find,
Something that will blow your mind.
Every employee on the floor,
Looks like models for a dress-up store!

True Beauty

When a pretty girl walks down the street,
All the people want to meet.
This girl with slim hips and golden hair,
This girl that everybody wants to stare.

But I sit and ask myself, what is beauty?
Is true beauty not found in stealth?

Because this golden girl has no manners,
When she curses she never stammers.
The golden girl, who at the flick of her hand,
Would make sure all knew where they stand.

Yet when I came across a shy lady,
Who seemed a tad too shady;
She politely said hello and smiled keen,
And was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

The Ways of Life

Do not conform to the ways
‘The ways' are but a way to capture your spirit,
To break your heart,
To kill your soul.
The ways cause tears to run down my face,
In the dark,
In the light,
In the twilight.
For no matter what time of day it is nothing changes,
People go through the motions,
Like animals,
Like robots.
No one is willing to explore and enjoy life,
We don't live, we exist,
We just stroll through our lives,
Meaningless, pointless.
Work is everyone's first priority,
But why?
Isn't work supposed to be a way to pay for our lives?
Not the meaning for our lives...

What Makes Us Human

I believe ability makes us intelligent, it distinguishes us from animals
I believe all have the ability to learn, to create art, to love
I believe we can let our ability go to waste, or we can let it flourish
I believe our ability that makes us human is our intelligence and good judgement
I believe many choose to ignore this ability and rely on animalistic instinct
I believe some humans treat animals better than humans
I believe to make this world peaceful we need to let our abilities flourish

It is curious that many people advocate humane treatment for animals, but treat actual humans inhumanely

Funeral For A Murdered Princess (Sonnet)

Who curtsies to her who is like the princess?
Only the cackling coos of the commoners
Only the laughing liars who treat her as less
Can speed her on her way with their horrid whirs
Only mockeries for her, no tales or tears
How can she sleep with so much noise?
She’ll lie in her bed for a thousand years
She won’t be allowed to rest with her poise

Whose candle burns in her honour?
Not in the hands of family, only one friend’s
That friend hopes that the princess’ wound mends
The friend watches the coffin get its mar
She cries a heartbroken tear, slumps her pose
And leaves her dearest a bloody rose

The Sociopath (3)

I think there’s something wrong with me.
I throw my hand into fire yet I do not feel,
Why won’t my skin burn and peel?
There’s no fire left in my life.

The cold wraps around me as an old friend,
One that I’ve never had,
I realise it should feel bad,
But I feel nothing.

I hear a joke and attempt laughter,
But I don’t find anything funny,
I used to find life as sweet as honey,
Now it’s bitterer then vinegar.

There’s nothing left and I wonder what’s wrong,
My life has no passion like it did before,
I am alone and I care not what’s in store,
It hardly even matters,
It doesn’t matter a bit,
