Ibrahim Ibn Salma

A place to be

We often search around
For a garden of roses and flowers,
A scene to enjoy, a moment to cherish,
A place to be.

But

It reminds us of what is not done;
No need to go far,
When the buds lay near,
Touching the inside with vigor,
Kindling the heart with soothing fragrance,

Flowering of courage,
Blossoming of confidence
Blooming of strength,
Sprouting of love -

An inner garden
A real place to be.

Cell Speaks

In singles or groups we
Always existed,
You made us,
So that
We make you,
Fifty trillions of us
Live inside you in communion,
We survive because
We love one another;
The strong empower the weak -
All is powerful,
The healthy heal the sick -
All is healthy,
Yet,
We are commanded by
Your thoughts, feelings and emotions,
So,
Send us love -
Send us kindness -
Send us compassion,

Time

Time

Time may play its game,
Love may change its place,
It may lack its zest,
It may disappear without notice.

What remain are the
Silent hours, the speechless moments, the
Whispers of yesterdays,
Gaining strength to celebrate
Our tomorrows,
And-
Outpace our todays.

For now, close your eyes
Until you see me,

And,
Never speak of love,

Dreams

Dreams

What is missing during the days
Can be retrieved during the nights,

Nights are not found after sunsets
Or in the midst of hours of darkness,

Conjuring things that have not been
And walking among them,

Touching, feeling and responding,
Healing the past, sailing into the future,

To explore and bring back the gems -
The thoughts, the feelings, the healings,

Opening the dreaming eyes - the eyes
Of the eyes is a journey of beginnings

Casting Obama

They contrive an upheaval
Of a non-existing character -
For character assassination,

They create a bobble-head that
Looks like him
On an empty chair,

They publish his alien
Birth place that
Never was,

They call him a crooked socialist who
Saves banks and Wall Street,
A job killer who rescues GM,
A terrorist sympathizer who kills Osama,

They knot him, stitch him,
Loop him, bounce him
On a trampoline

Pope Joan

Goddess spoke through her,
God joined the conversation,

Refused to be imprisoned in
Wifeliness, housework, slavery,
Isolation,

A wise glow of
Femininity,
Dressed in
Masculinity,

Internal radiance
Of light
When light was dimmed,
Unshaken on
The precipice of defeat,

Vatican unknowingly
Welcomed her with

Tree Speaks

I
paint the sky
with my branches,
I fortify the soil with
my roots, I fill the air
with oxygen, for a million
years I have given you the reason
and the resources to exist,
my branches never kill One another,
my roots never tell my fruits: “I owe you”.
You have butchered, burned and demolished me,
and I have no desire to reciprocate, in lieu,
I have continued to give you more oxygen
and food and never retaliate, I wish
you would treat one another like
I have treated you for years.
Stop over and
give me
a hug sometimes.

North-way Woods

A visit to Norway

A journey back in time,
Massive trees left and right,
Stretching their branches skyward,
Reaching for the sun that seldom shows its face,
With rocks happy to reflect its mighty rays,

Hills would make their home for moose and deer,
White houses cling to steep slopes;
Tumbledown shacks cower in their shadow,

Nature is always ready for nature callings,
With berries and mushrooms so wild.

When the mist clears and the curtain drops,
Souls engulfed in a red, white and blue shroud
Witness
Love blossoming in the house of
Love.

Ruins

My heart - do not ask me
Where love is,
It may have been a river of compassion, and it dried.
It may have been a castle of imagination, and it collapsed.
It may have been a history of a never-ending grief.

Oh heart!

Never forget when you tempted me
With sweet emotions -
That saved me,
Like an extended hand
Through raging waves,
Saving the drowned.

Let us drink upon its ruins
As long as the tears keep flowing,
And fly above its remains
As a bird chanting his pain.

My Darkness

I sought freedom, I sought love
I delved into the unknown, into the void.
Blind so I was, Darkness surrounded me.

Frightened I became, aimless were my steps.
Sickness clouded my existence.
I screamed for help but no response.

Upon the vast desert of Arabia, I once strolled.
The darkness of the night descended upon me.
Embraced me with fear like the darkness within

Despite the warmth of the night, I shivered.
I stretched my fragile body on the sand as I quivered.

I looked up to the heavens for comfort.
The brightness of the stars through the darkness of the night
Guided me to search for the stars in my deep darkness.

The first star shone when Malcolm stated
