Friendship

Not to trust passion of friendship
As the holiest communion
Is to distrust freewill-
Fate makes our parents,
Choice, makes our friend.
Tirelessly benevolent,
Saves self from loneliness
And pal from evil bent

So strong the faith in what's
Good in man, not in his goods
As the test of man's manhood.
Yet to share one soul in two bodies
Is to halve your rights
And double your duties
So unfriendly to doubt

As to be deceived
By what prosperity makes

Rain

Atomized ocean, sun powered, airlifted,
With thunder and lightning, breaks
Eternal silence of infinite space.
Unknown what is it holding when it falls, yet
Blessed from above despite unclear sky,
As if immensity taps at our life
Either as celestial shower of mercy

Or world wide waterfalls of existence
Emptying itself on what the world survives-
Failed or excess, all is derailed.
What's by birth creation whole, unique taste,
Free its service, humanity its faith,
Ever bent to put on level with heaven

Man's earth turned desire.

A Diver's Dilemma

By the estuary where sea / river clash
Froth surface broken but nothing torn,
Bubbles flattened like mushroom caps-
Frontier closes on sky below land,
Whence the diver's descent to underworld,
Without walls of life, beacon and back to coast

Fellow rover. Travel worn, he spreads arms in vain
And vainly peers the whale's way and calls for pilot.
Beyond these limits as the mirage melts away,
Not the faintest ray enlightens the distant shore
Where the lost may steer or get the truth that lies
Along the unwalked way, beyond the last threshold.

A glimpse of Taj Mahal

Wonderful is not so much
The mausoleum's chisel cut beauty
As the beauty of the love
Arrested in its architecture-
Starry white dome in starry space
Ray lit clouds set aglow

Fairer than the sky, akin to third eye
Visitors' mind illumine with cosmic bliss
As night snuffs asleep.
What's bricked up looking glass
Dawn sunpolishes
Till Jamuna's surface looks back

Hallucinating but still real.
There's in it no beauty
That's not surpassed in beauty
By beautiful carved adage
Till earth wears out love like theirs
Suffuses this world wonder sarcophagus.

All War In

Barricadded behind wall of human nature
Each sequestered in thick sense,
Man is but reason in ruin....
Human bomb self blown revenge gloated,
Human heads topple napalm bloated

For cemetery to honour the fallen
And arches to celebrate victory-
Wages he not war with the enemy he sleeps
-Mind's blemishes...conquered only by arm of love,
What's an inward war without bloodshed,

Compassion armed without wielding weapons,
Narrows the forts into a neighbourhood.
Peace is higher ordeal of life's quest
than battle ever knew
What's liberty in tranquility.

Woman

To fulfil immortality in life
Is woman's truth
Whose sole deed is
To disclose us to ourselves,
To whom next to Almighty
All owe their life
And who makes it worth having,

Although in the veil of desire
Is but lust made beauty,
Nature's agreeable blunders
In the magnifying glass of spite,
Yet no man is whole in himself
Save she's the rest of him.
What puzzles the mind,

Heart can understand only by love,
Awareness can touch only by virtue,
So rich in variety

A blind wayfarer

The miracle of the blind is himself.
There's no outside.
Having pulled down the blind on self interest,
I risk everything

And ask for nothing. My blindness transcends
The need of feet and closes the route the eyes walk.
It shuts the day's bright miscreation
To take in the brightness

Which spark shows the wanderer home,
In the vast otherness of being-
Where no one owns anything,
Where there's no name, no nation,

Where there's no sceptre, no mitre,
Where there's no creation, no destruction,
Where insight is all that matters
Where the mortal heart looks for me in the chest.

A Boon-sugar Cane

What grows on its own within my breast,
That in truth's alone real-
The quintessence of sweetness,
Of which man has its human counterpart
That could however be sapped bitter by desire.
We are both caged alike in eternal bounds,
Albeit he in the vastness of space's stern decree
And I in the shutness of cane-case,
Whence we each draw in each movement
Of the sphere,
A moment of the Great Sweetness,
Of which the least bees buzz
As God's greatness in the small,
Circumambulating
My site of manifestation
Not as stale ritual of desire but primeval harmony.
Gold has in it no life of the giver
But despite my non form,
We are always tasting together, man and me.

A confession of a pearl dealer

Where I am lost in transaction of cash,
Where mobiles ring and the deal is done,
I know by heart the heart of all pearls
And search always for the back with flaws
With eyes of profit and loss facing
The front.
Too busy, I never learnt to find real time
For me to just be and understand the inner
Meaning of life and the underside of my being,
Woven to the terror in my mind.
I don't know who I am save bear a business name.
It seems strange almost as strange as I'll be,
Some day.Shall I be left forgotten in the dust
When the flower which has a touch of earth
And no sublime feelings, revives?
If I'll search for myself, I'll certainly
Find the rarest of pearl-ME.

A baneful napalm manufacturer's' observation

Despite heart of dirt, Mother earth,
Yours is far more farsighted
Than my in-drying and bomb blast minded heart
Of flesh. You have no thirst for blood or any pride
Of the tumult of discrimination. Ungifted
With passionate warmth, you still view all with
Equity, feed the living, cherish the dead
And camouflage doctors' mistakes.As love
In non human form, your service driven life,
Makes thankful use of selflessness,
Ever transforming the napalm
Scattered by my war wealth conscious me,
In the military air, into life sustaining breeze.
Glorified by the great secret implicit
In your silence, You rotate praying
'Lord, forgive this war maniac
Who knows not what he does.'
