Fall With Sanma Fish
the beautiful fall sky led me to lunch
Sushi restaurant in Kyoto
On Kawaramachi street @ Sanjo street
I took sanma in this season with no hesitation
sliced blue fish lying on the vinegared rice
sprincled with grated Daikon vegetable
juicy but daikon leaving clear taste
I bite sliced ginger afterward
and beer, of course
there was a lady sitting next to me at the age of 88
we had a little talk and smiled
I listened to her talk to a british couple sitting the other side
peacefully and joyfully
it happened on a fall day

Grounded To Soul
your wish has not come yet?
you have come all the way today
Why? the look you are giving off looking up to the sky
what you see is the future bright and shiny
for instance, you want to be a musician
admirable one
one just around the corner
famous one in media
teacher
composer
each holds its own ground for all united
you will try to be any of those as many as possible
as you go through many of those
you will reach to know what you are the most
now that is what they say what is perfect for you
meanwhile you feel yourself grounded to life

Your Faith
off braveness
it is not the way you have faith in people, most importantly in yourself
you are a kite without a string
you are afraid of being out of control
be brave
take the handle to fly correctly
watch over surroundings
make a goal to fly away to
have a dream that lights up your life
you decide which way to go for it
and you are not afraid of tomorrow wind blowing up anymore
because you know what to do under control
in any kinds of sky anytime
by just letting the dream light bright
go well
fly gracefully
between massively deep valleys

Handed Down Quietly
I listen to a song, cleaning a room
my granma says this song sounds good
she makes Sunday lunch
I say this tastes good
she says my clothes are cool
I say they are new
she says she always has liked the colors I am wearing
summer comes around
the green grows in the garden as usual
I trim
she has set a bamboo fan
I use it, hanging a wind-bell my grandpa bought
it rings fine as it sounds, exactly the same as he used to hear
I always have imagined a mutual sense transfers to each other
I will wake up tomorrow

She Is 101 Years Old
she is sometimes forgetting things away
memory sometimes serves her correctly
she is generally stabborn and asks me to bring her some candies
at nursing center
she is 101 years old
she has been a widow for 75 years, bringing up two children
I am her grandson
we laugh even though we have misunderstandings on occasionally
I couldn't understand why she always had been stabborn
Now I can
it is the way she tries to keep people away from her
meaning that she is O.K.
Finding her stabborn was such a big mistake
it is her pride, wisdom and mostly
independence, not to get us toubled with her

My Place
what makes my world silent is
the same scent of yours
your words having inspired me
no matter how miserable we have ended up
the scene of the winter in those days is still my treasure
we can't see each other anymore
because we had someone else know the way we were
how sad it is
camellias fall off to the ground
with the way they look
determinedly
I wish I could be like them
bleeding
I try to stop it rolling on the skin by licking
it is my love for you that I love myself

One True Thing
one true thing
I take seriously
I go after it
sharpening it up
come rain or come shine
even if nobody knows I care for it
I wouldn't even notice weather and season change
that much I concentrate on it
a bird spots me chirping
someday I'll be found in a warm sunshine
because
every star in the sky has no boundary
rain has no boundary to move
waves come toward me
I swim against them
I'll take my pace not to get tired, not to give up going further

Love, Try Again
tell me a love song
into my drought heart
otherwise, many of its cracks would be falling apart
tell me a love song
into my eyes
to see this world full of flowers
my heart seems to have been stuck to the time
because he said good bye
since then
I have been a big smile without feeling
like a clown
my heart wanted to trust again
however, I didn't let it do
tell me a love song
into my heart
not to forget my song again
even though I have known some having stopped by

Tomorrow
I dream of flying in the sky
with my arms wide open
coming through clouds
whenever I want to see you, I do
what a rich time it would be
I'm expecting you to come as I'm at the cafe
in a big crowd
loud voices
I expect you to come along over the window
make it come true
I soak my feet in the river
at lunch time on a hottest summer day
you must be smiling behind me
I have just felt you there for the first time in the last 365 days
in at on behind by under between around among
whatever kind of prepositions I use

Kyoto
surrounded by mountains
when the full moon floats
it seems that I run into Bamboo Prince
chattering wood-flip-flops
wearing Kimono
He lives in an eel house to avoid summer heat
that has summer breezes running through
He is looking at the inside-garden
hearing bamboo-hose receiving flowing water
making sounds against a hand-wash-stone-pot
colorful maple leaves fall onto him
gets caught in A-Bridal-Day of Fox on a sunny cold winter day
eats herring-soba to keep up with protein
enjoys spring covered in pink
cherry blossoms will be on
