What Pleasure Is This To You, O God?
what pleasure is this to you, o god,
in creating and destroying me again and again?
are you not tired of this boring game?
you scatter around me a wealth of pleasures
all of them but beyond my tiny reach-
all my life i waste in greed and tears
i acquire nothing but wrinkles and silvery hair-
why not teach me the real pleasures of living?

Crash onto a Roadside Palmist..!
On every occasion
Misfortunes lash at my shores
With mindless ferocity
Mind-wrecked I crash onto
A roadside palmist
For visions of prosperity
Coursing through my lines!
Those rosy predictions-
With a sprinkle of adversity-
Dust me and clothe
In songs dance and dreams!
A resolve to live
Dearly blossoms!
Awaiting mirages I dare
Yet another instalment of life..!

Your Serene Face Mirrors The God
i keep it at your line of sight
you pass by casting not a glance
i hide it out of your sight
you demand it without let
i ask you to sleep
you steadfastly keep awake
request you to smile a bit
lowering your eyes glum you look
i overflow in sleep
you drag me along to play
however much i try
i fail to read you, baby
but when you fall asleep
your serene face mirrors the god!

Songs Of A Plough!
The sounds of the rain delighted!
The fragrance of the soil flowered!
In the nerves of the plough
Leaning in coma at the corner
Of the worn out thatched hut
A thrill sent cheerful shivers!
Cutting deep furrows in the soil
It dreamed of its own songs
To the raining tunes!
It mounted on the necks
Of bullocks at early dawn
And on the strings of the earth
Wove new cheerful melodies!

Bless Me Such Thousand Births, O God!
i stand like a speck with dreamy eyes
beneath this wide dome of sky
carpeted with ashen clouds
with nothing to impede my vision-
around me cool winds surfing
i am slowly drenched by soft drizzles
of melodies from distant spheres and heavens
in strange languages in soothing voices
and i spin slowly with outstretched arms-
o god! bless me such thousand births!

The Sturdy Roots Of The Universe
The sturdy roots of the Universe
have entrenched deep into me-
therefore transform-
my dreams
into Stars!
my joys
as rays of the Sun!
my deep sighs
as roaring Storms!
my mind
into Clouds!
my heart
into Moon!

As I Rode The Chariot Of Age
as i rode the chariot of my age
i loved girls, all in flashes, beyond count
but torn away by my speed-
i was torched by their memories
but doused by my forgetfulness-
in such a fraction of a second of eyedash
i compacted epics of love in volumes-
i doubt i loved girls even as i roamed as a kid-
they never cease to be a wonder;
create turbulance by dropping a glance!

I Stand In Total Frustration!
I stand in total frustration
at this shore of this metro's road
in which flows the perennial river
of automobiles in mad frency!
I am unable to cross to the other shore-
I curse as helpless minutes fall dead!
God!
you must have created me
with an owl's head
that can look back and front-
with Lord Indhra's body full of eyes
and with Impala deer's nimble legs
to cross this death trap
in a single fluid jump!

For How Long...?
' for how long are you going to be like this? '-
all and sundry have shot the very same question at me-
at times merciless, at times full of concern
which has no answer from me ever-
'o mother, why you alone do not?
is it that i am never bothersome to you? '-
yes, i know, mother your heart bleeds as tears;
what can i do, dear mother?
am i not a mentally unstable creation of god?

God Suddenly Remembered Me
God suddenly remembered me!
++
God was walking alone;
Suddenly HE remembered me-
'Where is the guy?
Not seen for a long long time! '
Dispatched a mild misery to me-
HE saw a man in the distance
Fast approaching, beating his heart,
Lips aflutter chanting his name
