The Flex Board Culture of Tamizhnaadu!
The days of the 'Only Privileged Tribe'
Seems to be over once for all!
I gain this impression
As i walk along the streets and lanes;
Thanks to the 'Flex Board' ventures
Any 'a', 'b', or'c' or 'z' of Tamizhnaadu
May smile or stare at you
From the sidewalks of streets
In multi-coloured make-ups
Propped-up on casuarina poles!
If you ignore in your ego
To slight these without raising your sight
Your forehead is ready for an injury, sure!
Nowadays the roads look like
An endless array of mirrors
With almost all people of your area
Figuring themselves in this rainbow culture!
Not politics alone, it covers
Every aspect of life,
Leaving nothing to chance!

For Many Many Years A Problem
for many many years a problem
seized me by my throat;
i ran to places broken-hearted
in search of a way-out of the muddle;
peace was at no peace with me
and swiftly receded far far into the horizon;
everywhere there seemed a solution
yet it was not to be, never to be;
i dashed my head with experts in the field
but my worries alone multiplied

Little Bird..Is Your Heart Parched ?
Little Bird..!
I doubt your heart would become parched
by efforts to roll your breaths into verses-
and raising your bills into the skies
pipe your melodies flooding the dawn....
Where is the fountainhead of
the deathless springs of your music?
What is the interwoven message
in your unbroken songs?
Is it the shackles-shattering joy
with the birth of hopeful morn?
Is it specially for the mornings
do your songs surge in waves?

The Pre-kg Prison
the pre-kg prison
&
i am the strongest critic of the pre-kg prison;
...
posted tirelessly on social websites the sufferings of tiny tots
kept screwed on to the backless wooden benches,
in half or full sleep, hiding their fears of 'miss ' teachers
for over three hours like frozen figures,
afraid of even to voice their nature's calls-
o pity the child that actually opens its lids at the school only-
all other processes in its house done in deep slumber!

O Naughty Child..! [ Part- 9 ]
[ Part-9 ]
The moment the screaming creak
Of the old trunk waves out
As if in pain
You are on your twos
To the spot exact
And sit cross-legged
And wide-eyed
With a really innocent look!
O.. how disciplined and harmless
You sit beside!
A real treat to watch!
Yet so many 'whys '
Flit across my mind!
Though on guard
Assure myself-
' Perhaps no mischief now! '

O Naughty Child..! [ Concluding Part-10 ]
[ Part-10 ]
When i dress up for outdoor works
Like a puppy my legs
Closely circumbulate;
Eyes burst with hopeful pleas
And serious doubts in equal measure-
Painfully strain your head
Up above into my eyes!
Soak me in coaxing tones
Circling like a spinning top-
With your clutch of my dress
Never allow others to near
Fully suspicious of a forceful snatch!
Painted walls are your drawing boards!
Recklessly scribble to suit your whims!
Is it a coded communication to God above!

How Much True Are Your Words Alone, Mom!
[ Prologue ]
The external appearances and the internal dramas of some men may be baffling...At times both may be in total contradiction... We may ourselves wonder why!
Poem
--
Mother dear, like the monsoon rains
ncessantly I chatter aloud-
Why then these people complain,
'Why you ever remain tight-lipped, o lad? '
'Do you too hear not my high-decibel chats, dear Mother? '
I weep in torrents
And my heart is tossed about
In the sea of my tears;
How then these people murmur,
'O boy, why no tears dim your eyes? '
'How is it that I weep sans tears, Mother? '
Restlessly I roam about all these places;
'Why do you ever glue yourself to this sullen chair

I Am Seized By A Strange Desire!
I am seized by a strange desire
That thrusts me through the dizzy darkness
Into ages and ages past to trace
That ancient soul, the very first seed,
That sprouted my lineage aeons ago.
Neither guides nor torches are at hand
To lead me into pitch dark corridors
Of the labyrinthine pathways
With strong stench of dead memories.
I lose my vision a few miles thereon;
Yet I will be on my way, struggles whatever may be.
It seems now as if I am the loftiest leaf
Of a tiniest twig kissing the heavens;
And my journey down below through a maze of
Leaves, branches to main trunk and to root proper
To have a holy meeting with my remotest ancestor look
Both arduous and bleak; yet my urge surges me on.
One by one wakes up from dead to my strong loving calls
And declares one's links to my family chain-
Only three links, one up and one down, is revealed to me;

O What A Climate Today!
o what a climate today!
o where is the sun that squeezed dry my blood into sweat so long?
the day unusually rolls up and sets aside the sparkling quilt of the sun;
and the ashen clouds have spread their thin mats all over the skies
and the cheerful winds on joyful feet spread happiness everywhere
on top of all, as a crowning glory, there is a dreamy rain -
no, i cannot call this rain, or a misty fall, nor a soft drizzle-
it is of dreamy drops, here and there, distanced by long seconds,
and tossed far and wide by the sprinting and sporting wind,
sending shivers of thrill into the streams of blood

A Promise Difficult To Keep Up
a promise difficult to keep up
&
everyday the alarm beeps at 5 a.m.
i have to keep my promise to myself-
sweep the house interiors and mop them clean-
a self-imposed discipline at 67 years -
a visit to my elder brother in his 75 years at madhurai
transformed my loosened spirits into a worthwhile vow!
he was doing this work nonchalantly
for over 30 years or more, heartily-
'why not you, o lazy chap, instead of fuming at others? '-
my mind questioned; hence the resolution from 1, jan.,2012.
the bones weep in pain at the sounds of the beeps;
plead for a few more minutes of wakeful sleep-
'why not once in two days? ' suggest sheepishly-
'no more excuses! ' -reminder beeps punch on to my face.
with half-lazy eyes and non-cooperating legs
i switch on all the lights to slog away my lethargy;
