Hi, beautiful, having no suitors yet?
Make haste, and of yourself, do make copies,
That when you're dead, the grandchildren you'll get,
Will cause remembrance to your memories:
But you, bent on being a slim beauty,
Subsisted, at length, on your body fat,
Dieting, eating none when there's plenty,
Punishing yourself, severely at that:
You, who are the last show of youthfulness,
And from whose womb new life could have issued,
But now, really wasted to uselessness,
While childless, as siring you've not pursued:
....You all, single, married, abandoned wife,
....Tarry not, live: go make yourself a life.

Failure
As twilight calls curtain, to end the day,
I felt so small, I towered among ants,
As I reckon deeds, nay, faults, where I lay,
For nightly rest, even as regret rants;
The bells at dusk, now tolls for glory lost,
To mourn the passage, of a chance gone by,
My ego riles, upon counting the cost,
Of shoring heaven for a higher sky;
And now, the ill winds blow, though not the norm,
When luck bestows favors, none is assured,
The best to rise up to the raging storm,
Might be, to kiss the ground, footwork secured;
.......Until the good times, in the morning light,
.......For yet, another day, another fight.

Love Sonnet 56 Can I deny that moon though out of sight,
Can I deny that moon though out of sight,
Could not cease to exist in yonder skies?
When even in my dreams it shines so bright,
Stoking a lonely flame that never dies;
Can hearts resist the spell of moonlight's glow,
That veils the night with so much mystic hue,
And promises of more still there to know,
Of longings that, to lovers, would imbue?
Your love has gotten well into my blood,
And claimed my heart as its very refuge;
If memories of others be as flood,
Of yours, the matter runs to a deluge;
..... The moon seems bare, as so I was to find,
..... When viewed without the thoughts of you in mind.

Love Sonnet 07: Lingering Glances That Consume Our Day
Lingering glances that consume our day,
Frolics measured not till the set of sun,
If all eternity, is spent this way,
Nary would we know how our life is spun;
But come, no decree reigns ever supreme,
In lives that only we could rightly spend,
Soon Time crops up the cake of all its cream,
And we will find that youth could not extend;
Forget the signs, the omens of the skies,
Live as living be, love as loving is,
Until when all is through, and dying, dies,
But regrets nil, as when compared to bliss;
......So let the stars divine all they foretell,
......For smile we will, should we then toast in Hell.

Love Sonnet 175 The love you kept still hidden in your eyes
The love you kept still hidden in your eyes,
Permitted me no sleep many days hence,
Yet heart that oft its dreamless state it cries,
Takes not this deed of angels an offence;
For they don't tread where fools make avenues,
Woe to love lost, or to this dreamer be,
On the trodden path, paying lovers' dues,
By Heaven's gate, yet no angel to see;
Does the Devil count every loving touch?
That lovers had to give utmost regard,
That fire, never should they stoke, and as such,
To be pure, is it best to just niggard?
......Deviling touch or mere angelic stares,
......How best does each to each other compares?

Love Sonnet 55 My love may never guess just how time flies
My love may never guess just how time flies,
Or how things go, but this of her I know,
She smiles despite sadness cast in her eyes,
The way sunsets, before darkness would glow;
Although discreet, more than grooming requires,
She is princess no stepmother would miss,
In fairy tales, the jewel of empires,
Or Beauty sleeping, waiting for that kiss;
In ivory towers are oft exiled,
Damsels of worth, as love of mine is one,
Nothing, as yet, has her fancy beguiled,
For in her rest, all else where I have none;
.....Time flows so slow, too slow for her to feel,
.....But just as well, there is much to reveal.

Love Sonnet 67: Your Absence Caused Me So Much Remonstrance
Your absence caused me so much remonstrance,
As you left without hint of returning,
Which leaves as memento for remembrance,
A gap between us that keeps on yawning;
Yet distance favors roses of beauty,
When too far from eyes to perceive their thorn,
Or for moon, aloft, looking still pretty,
With unseen craters that its face has worn;
And how like the moon, you have ridden high,
Very far from reach, shrouded in mystic;
Would the moon still awe, if it leaves the sky,
And say, wallow down in south Pacific?
…….But then, for wine that anybody sips,
…….The cup needs be brought nearest to the lips.

Love Sonnet 74: She comes as topping of my cake, the cream,
She comes as topping of my cake, the cream,
As soulful song, my misty morning sings,
Or wistful wisp of lonely dreamer's dream,
If not as scent, rose-planted garden brings;
She touches soft, as dew or falling mist,
Or gentle breeze wafted on cooler days,
Or butterfly, alighting on your wrist,
Then flies, as if guilty for its displays;
I wish to spin a web that stores her smile,
To tide me out when joy reserves are low,
Or hide some other smile that may beguile,
As more pernicious winds would come to blow;
…….I knew not love with any other name,
…….It has tasted so sweet while still the same.

Love Sonnet 78: They Say, Red Sunset Skies Predict Clear Day,
They say, red sunset skies predict clear day,
For next morning, and yellow sunrise tells
Of rain, the very day it would display,
But naught they tell how in your heart love dwells;
Do you smile to stoke love's embers burning,
Touch tenderly, affirm affinities,
Or tease the twilight for fiery evening,
And hug so tight to bridge infinities?
As seasons come, then so the year follows,
Waves recede to break back with higher surge,
After the calm, much fiercer wind bellows,
Are there omens for coming storm to splurge?
.....Wisdom is oft denied the common mind,
.....That is, so bliss in innocence they find.

The Pen
This pen that's privy to those lonely days
When to a distant shore my love did stray
Many a secret lie it held, there lays
Scribbled as mementos that scripts portray
Absence makes heart grow fonder, as they've said
As roses yearn for rain that seldom falls
But thirst not quenched by drink that's scarcely laid
Might fill its cup to toast in other halls
For dreams can always fade and hearts can change
Sweetness sours, to vinegar becomes
Time turns a bend hiding a love made strange
Uncertain of tomorrow, if it comes
This pen that wrote these lines which made her sigh
Alas, will have to scribe the word 'goodbye.'
