To Her Of Venus Isle
Born was a sigh, in Venus Isle,
Whose winds caress, and dreams fly high,
Cradled in lore and vestiges,
Of land where dwelt the goddesses,
Hellenic grace, from head to foot,
With poetic prowess of note;
Where else does sea kisses the sky,
If not in pristine Venus Isle,
Where eyes may rest their weariness,
And hearts may fill their emptiness,
But souls that search, from South to North,
Will find, her there, with love they're worth

Mothers
Of creatures, none appears to me,
So wondrous as mother can be,
Love flowing sweetly from her breast
All infants suckling could attest;
Her tunes to angels' hymns belong,
Have you not loved your mother's song?
On direst times, in soaking rain,
She cheered you midst defeat and pain,
Nursed your wounds, kissed away the tears,
Your constant fan through all the years;
Though late, that only now I write
But none I felt to do more right.

Dream On My Pillow
Just suppose that you took my pillow,
Will you let me, in your dreams, follow?
A soul of make-believe, that's me,
Class A, romantic fool, per se
How about, giving me yours to sleep
Will in my sleep, dreams of you I'll keep?
In world of bloom, so beautiful
Flowers for all, so plentiful;
How about, if we both sleep on one?
Seemed better than all sleeping I've done,
Might you think, there's more to whine,
As dreams, of ours, might all entwine?

Nightfall
Once upon these rocks
Sat a maiden glowing
Hair tossing wildly
In the wind, just flowing
But lights grew dimmer
With the sun that's setting
The sky turned greyish
And night started falling.
Never was a night so dreary
As before, it had been dreamy
When the angels refrained looking
At the maiden sadly weeping.
Yes, upon those rocks
A maiden, eyes glowing
Burning much redder
Than the sun that's setting
Waits for the darkness
Now completely falling.

Breathes There A Man
Breathes there a man,
Or just a respondent
Says the survey team.
He has done good things:
Like killing!
Killing the enemy.
Like robbing!
Robbing the rich.
(Robin Hood, step aside)
And nasty things too:
Ants for the neighbor's crib
Love notes for the neighbor's wife.
That's bad, we're told:
When you mind, birds in a nest,
Always leave the young alone.
Who's this man?

Streets of Life
Walking down a crowded street
Friends can suddenly appear
Bustling on their happy feet
Telling you that they're so near
Walking down an empty street
Makes you wonder if you're lost
For there is no one to greet
You're like walking in a frost
Walking down the streets of life
On which roadway will you be?
That of glory or of strife?
Or on path where you'd be free?
Walking down the august hall
By the road you know not where
Is there pride as you recall?
How the heck did you get there?

Said the Bird
Now, what's this beast that made this world of whims?
Has torn our homes and left us in the cold?
Has mowed our grass, and maimed our very limbs?
Deprived us of the worms and perch to hold?
Has robbed our nests,
Detained our hopes or shoot us down as pests?
Is man its name, and beast it's really been?
Fouling the air, the sea or time itself?
When to wiping its race it now is keen,
Apocalypse having been stored in shelf
Where roosts the bomb
Which soon would make the Earth a large scale tomb!

Hidden Love
My love now sits beneath the starry sky
While here I hide, to wonder as I lie
The stars are fewer, will she be aware,
I bagged the other faithless stars for her?
My love sits calmly on a floating boat
No wind blows strongly while they were afloat
How can I tell her that seconds ago
I plugged the wind that now it stopped to blow
Some other feats for her I'll gladly do
To prove this hidden love for her is true
But first things first, I'd like for her to see
That there exists, one dreamy fool like me.

Virtue And The Beast
To run, we could from threats besetting us
But naught we do for demons from within
Their obstacles laid on the paths we pass
Dictate the rise and fall our lives contain
Virtue does to a woman bind desire
When dreams of wayward thrills it would suppress
As though alarm when hearts are set afire
It screams out loud should she unzips her dress
Monsters and ghouls are far removed in woods
If there be what the heart so truly dreads
In man is beast lurking in murky moods
Knows many arms and sleeps in many beds.

A Naughty Dream
My love, I dreamed
You and me, so sweet
Sweetest, it seemed
Making our lips meet
When kiss thus paved the way
Love managed by itself
No longer kept at bay
To reach sweets on the shelf
The child of deep longing
That keeps a cherished dream
With heart ever yearning
To taste life's very cream
When like a sigh
You came with a style
Fluttering by
Wearing just a smile
As so did I
After a while
