Solitude
Blue water faded to black
It was Texas tea
She haunted me, had no choice
Headed for the sea
Out there I was rocked and tossed
Night and day for three
Till I found the unknown isle
That would set me free
Her name: solitude
She lived all alone with me
Then I built a raft
And bid her farewell one day
I wrote about it
It made me rich and famous
Beauty came my way
But she didn't plan to stay
Only came to play

My Dream
I had this dream
I was walking with this woman
We were on the beach
The water was cool on our feet
The sun was bright and hot
She was beautiful in so many ways
Her smile warmed me inside
I knew her, but I didn't
She held my hand tightly as we walked
I asked her who she was
She just looked at me and smiled
It was then I opened my eyes
It was then I realized
I was living the dream
This was no dream
I was with her and she was with me

A Prayer
Empty pockets, just a book and some clothes
Far from home and away from it all
Ahead of me I only see a lonely path for one
As I walk there is no sunlight to warm me
Only the steady cold wind snaps and snarls
The moon sneaks behind a cloud denying me a look
Black sky with no stars, I find a place to sleep
And as I lay down I thank the Lord for all He has done
And pray for another day just like today
How else can I be brought to Him but on my knees?

All Night
In the early morning hours
You and I were intertwined
We met, I saw your powers
Our love would last forever
Suddenly, there was a rift
We struggled to persevere
In the end we went adrift
And our love was nowhere near
And yet we both really cared
Stayed up all night and we talked
Rekindled the love we shared
We've been as one ever since
Till that fateful day arrived
When I held your hand all night

Inner Zen
Just wanted you to know
You didn't bring me down
I was already low
And had nowhere to go
I brought it on myself
Nothing to do with you
I took it off the shelf
I made friends with that elf
You were somehow just there
In that time of my life
I know it isn't fair
And I really don't care
So, don't pity my fall
Or feel it was your fault
What we had was so small
I had to learn to crawl

There you were in front of me
Perched on your chair like a queen
Mysterious behind dark shades
A perfect Mona Lisa smile
I would paint you if I could
Knowing it would be a lie
Even a photo would not capture
What I see in you and feel inside
Then there was that moment
When I was walking past you
And you lifted up your sunglasses
Revealing stunning aqua blue eyes

I'll never get over that day at the beach
Getting soaked by the waves and drenched by the sun
Getting next to you, our bodies within reach
It was a special memory, so much fun

Another Day
Another day, baby it's the same old shit
The beers are warm, we go nothing to do
So, we'll drink a few more til our bellies are full
Then we'll ride this dark ghost town through
Every road we ride down becomes a nightmare
We succumb to the spell of these streets
Cause everyone here knows everyone
But guess what? No one knows a single soul
Not their neighbors, not even themselves
These people lie, they cheat and they don't ask why
Isn't it a waste of life when people live to die?

True Love
When I gave you everything that I had
And there was nothing more for me to give
Instead of feeling bad it made you sad
I recall you said ‘that's no way to live'
Then tell me so I know, ‘what is true love? '
And what does the term ‘true love' mean to you
For you it is something to rise above
And how do you know when a love is true?
Cause I only feel emptiness inside
Someone else will take my place tomorrow
Is anything worse than losing your pride?
