About Love
When we're together as one
We can always rise above
What we have is a true love
But nothing's ever perfect
Our love's been put to the test
Now we're stronger than the rest
We will always keep the faith
And the flame ever burning
That's the secret we're learning
Give it all to each other
And find the way to romance
Act like you just have one chance

First Love
First love was a summer girl
Didn't know her very well
Tan and blond, bangs with a curl
She said her name was Michelle
Saw her almost every day
We were as close as can be
Then one day she walked away
Leaving a short note for me
All it said was, "I love you"
Never again saw my friend
But she knew I loved her too
And my heart will never mend

Time
Another and always one more
All coming, all going
Most are unknown
Here or there, look anywhere
Some are with, some without
All are alone
From the beginning til the end
Few in the know, most don't
But don't bemoan
Today and with each tomorrow
Mostly beast not beauty
Down to the bone
Every morning, day and night
Nothing good, all evil
Time to atone

Fluff
So take it all
I've got enough
Not gonna fall
Deep down I'm tough
No one to call
You got it rough
Not gonna crawl
Through all that stuff
I hit the wall
And called your bluff
You stood so tall
You looked so rough
But now you're small
A wisp of puff
No need to stall
Leave in a huff

Sandy
Lost a willow to Sandy
Many lost a whole lot more
On my deck sipping Brandy
Better here that down the shore
Houses ravaged, boats are tossed
People told: leave the island
Most went mainland, some are lost
Either way they took a stand
Mother Nature calls the shots
A lesson learned my dear friends
So, take heed or sleep in cots
And with God please make amends

Christmas Band
With that burlap suit, so bland
And scotch whiskey in your hand
You tell me, "strike up the band"
Canary on her shoulder
She was feeling much bolder
So, we finally took up a stand
Then along came this stranger
Mumbling "baby in a manger"
He wanted to understand
The music was getting loud
We started to draw a crowd
My mother, she never looked so proud

Our Love
Just "us" and "we"
For we are one
Not "you" and "me"
Or we are done
There for always
Every moment
Good and bad days
That's our intent
As we embark
On this journey
Out of the dark
Where we can see
And live each day
Giving it all
I pray we stay
And do not fall

Wish
Legendary purple fairy
Sprinking pixie dust
A wicked spell so scary
Turning hate to lust
But never lust to love
For there are no charms
Or angels from above
To keep you in my arms
It's all in our hands
To live in harmony as one
To give what love demands
To be each others Sun
Shining on, bringing light
To the darkness in wait
Making every recess bright
Creating our own fate

Nine Eleven
shoulder to shoulder
we stand
closing ranks
hand in hand
on my left
is a brother
to my right
there's another
the fire inside
burns and burns
our world outside
it never turns
we cannot change
we're not the same
our hearts are heavy
with every name

Too Late
Now I see what I meant to you
I didn't know what you would do
Too late to get back what we had
Happy memories now turned sad
If I could just turn back the clock
Step up and somehow be your rock
Prove your life was worth the living
All that love that you were giving
I would return it back to you
Show you how much I felt it too
For now I know you were the one
To set me free and let me run
