A Hero Among You

An unsung hero walks among you
But one That can't be seen
he may be black or brown or white
but the blood that flows is green

He is not a monster
nor a creature from the sea
he is a normal person
just like you and me

he has a normal job
sometimes a family to feed
but now and then he's called upon
to do his heroes deed

the thunder begins to crack
the flood waters begin to rise
everything is looking bleak
says the frightened look in your eyes
