An uninvited guest
Forced into my home
Became the landlord
I pay him homage
Not to be evicted
If I cultivated integrity
If I nurtured honesty
If I hadn't abhorred virtue
I would retain my home
And not be lorded

Oh! that I may soar above the Earth
Ten thousand miles
Swimming in ocean of clouds
Reaching Heaven
Touching the face of God.
What peace my soul would find

Faith seeks to follow Him
Even through darkest night
And brightest daylight
Faith seeks to do His will
Though contrary to commonsense
And all sound judgment
Faith seeks veracity
And not reasons
Faith stands steadfast

The eye bears no ill will
And the ear no evil intentions
These the heart alone bears.
The eye sees what it sees
And the ear what it hears
And without prejudice
The mind analyzes
And the heart judges

Tina – Big City Grill
Beside Harmon Meadows,
Opposite the Hamptons,
At the Meadowlands
Lies Phil’s Place –
Big City Grill
Great food, great service
And visit by Phil
But,
The best sight of the Night
belongs to Tina.
With beauty ascribed,
A smile that lights up
the atmosphere,
A sense of humor,
And a rare gentleness

Missing Soul
To the ends of the earth
Where dreams are conjured
Where friendship is born
Through the planes where life begins
and death has no stay,
There I will find you,
There I will take you,
On a journey of a thousand lives
On a journey of new beginnings,
Of knitting souls and hugs,
Of endless kisses and love
To live with you through eternity,
To behold the beauty of friendship

Offscouring
To be willing to die
For one's faith or belief
With dignity is easier than
To live for the demands of faith
As the offscouring of the earth
One does show beauty
But the other humiliation.
Yet you may not choose
The time and type of work
Nor the scenery of sacrifice
The Lord has placed on you.
Your calling of faith may be
A path to dignified heroism
Or a life of debasement!
Be mindful that His calling
Is not beneath your dignity!

You laugh at your jokes and revel at your humor
And carefully or carelessly your jestings spewing
And to the hurt of some or the applause of many
And indeed, they may seem all well and good
But take note that there are no neutral words,
Neither are there any throwaway phrases
Every word, either carefully constructed,
Or inadvertently uttered, bear the markings
Of your core being, vestiges of your soul
