Sun Burning Alive
Running into the sun burning alive
Not wishing to survive
people need some reason to believe
and all my plans are ill conceived
Honey you were the resson I was going high
Til you crushed my dreams with all your lies
now I sit on the Post Office steps
all the tears wept
And I dream about the stars
Laugh about the scars
when I finally stop it's just another wish
take away the pain what-ya accomplished
I gambled on a moon in the evening sky
Never considered there may be reasons why

Vines of Eternity
I see vines entwined into a circle.
There are flowers, they look pink, red maybe.
Off to the left I think I see a stairway, maybe one to heaven.
And I see a moon and it looks like a tunnel of life
or love possibly. There are figurines in the center
swirling around in space. And there is a void
at the top left corner, signifying small doubts and
fears, which always reside in the corners of our minds.
As a whole impact now, it's an open invitation to share
with someone special, a special place, a garden next to
heavens frontgate, where two spirits can entwine in love
and race each other to the moon where as free spirits
can share the secrets only God knows.

Ghost
I used to walk over my emotions
in the rain, sometimes the snow
Still I just don't know
where the nighthawks go
Flying high-diving low
I used to walk in the night
Alone, unafraid where the red lights
Turn to green through the alleys
Once again past the gates made of tin
I turn thinking of her skin
Turn again and again
Singing softly, mumbling curses
Never coming to an end
I've seen the day come crashing down
Seen it rise up again
Seen Love come in and walk out the door
Seen relationships turn to snow

Poetry of Payal Parande
I ask myself, 'How can I paint a sunset
with black ink on a white piece of paper? '
'How can I see through your eyes
when I've never seen you before? '
'How can I be heartfelt when I know not where? '
What I know is anklets in Hindi:
A city in Punjab, district of Ludhiana
64 temples in Mugal times

A...Abiding, Academe, Agnomen
Abluted, Abubble, Affined

If It's Summer
If it's summer
it's far by me
I saw the stars hiding
behind cottonball clouds
Peeping, laughing to each other
giggling like little girls
If it's summer
it's by me far
The darkened nightline
contrast to streets lighted up
Like day; only if by
the say
If it's summer
far, it's by me
When I understand only
What my boundries are
Where my limits all begin. But all
my say somehow shows I don't know

My Inspiration
He died from a massive
insult to the brain,
from alcohol poisoning: Dylan Thomas.
I say he was already dead
and couldn't stand to go on breathing.
So he put an end to it the only
way he knew how.
Poisoning: slow, so if you're reluctant
you can bide your time and ease into it
You know, cross that line between living
and dead. You can do it and not even
be aware that you've done it.How easy.
The only question is why?
But I already know why.
New York City...the where.

By the shores of Malachite
Upon the shores of Malachite
Next to the cobalt seas
Under molten silver moonbeams
That shatter on the crystal icing
Covering the diamonded waterfall
By the golden sands...
gather the unicorns of
Neptune, Uranius, and Pluto and beyond.
playfully covort between
Steel seas and emerald mountains
On the frozen sands of time unchanged
For a thousand Earth's comings
But it's just a dream
a lunacy, a nothingness in the night
All my unicorns have taken to flight
never there
All the frozen seas...
are now warm Florida keys

The waters of Life
I go down to where the boats at bay
Shove off and just drift away
Overhead comes out a star
A planet I wondered Venus or Mars
I lay down upon wooden planks
It had that musty scent that smells so dank
One by millions the stars came out
I reach up but they were too far about
Surely I could find just one of my own
Before my body just turned to bone
Floating around in rippling by dark
I wondered about just how stark
The space between emptiness and spark
The distance between each distant mark

Moses and Jesus
Moses was a Morman
Jesus was a Jew
God came down from the mountaintop
Said there's no difference between the two
Well parting of the Red sea
Or was it a Sea of Reeds
Who flippin'really cares
(what is import) is the fact of the deed
And Noah built a boat
Had a raffle to give away time shares
But interest was at an all time record low
Anyway, just some showers and who really cares
So then they crucified Jesus
Did they nail or rope him down
Doesn't really matter in the end
We left him dangling there

Oh, My Captain
Oh, my Captain, my Captain
Where is that gleam in your eye?
Where is that sting
Whenever your colors fly?
Where is that thirst
for adventure you sail?
Where is that booming voice
Through oak will drive nail?
Oh, my Captain
Where could you be?
Thy gaze crosses
more than the sea
Where is the man
Who knows not any fears?
Who's cheated death
All these long years
