Suicide

Where to begin, where to end
from the start, so much to mend
things not well, living in hell
voices screaming, I wasn't dreaming
pain in my head, noises of dropping beads
cries for help, out comes yelps
tried to cut wrist, but the pain brought twists
first was talks, next was meds
way to many talking in my heads
booze to help me snooze
never quite enough, deeper I fall
the more i scream, the more I dream
pain can be a strain and it's draining me
the demons are stronger, my mind is fogging-er
shadows following me, creeping closer
there is no escaping, trapped in hell
screams for help, scream for love
no one answers, no one cares
pills and booze are my friends
makes the pain go away

Devil's Lake

Iceberg carved, beautiful sculptured
nature's beauty, many years in the making
humungous hills, cliffs carved in the sides
a gorgeous lake below, river feed
many creatures habitability in park, free to roam
birds flying, squirrels running, vulture circling
a sense of peace and heaven to view.
crafty trails, steep hills to climb
breathe taking views, picture perfect
the woods so colorful and thick
spring many shades of green
fall the painters colors of reds, yellows, orange
walking the heavenly trails, seeing nature all around
from the smallest stone to the big boulders
the lake so clear, to see the fish, the current so gentle
you see the water flow
the wind blows, a steady one from the north
seeing people enjoying nature's heaven
it brings tears of joy and warmth that they respect the land
hundred of years in the making, yet so breathe taking

Old Age, Go Away

When are we consider old?
when the years past so quickly
being a kid with no worries
to a teen with rebel ways, to parents dismay
young adult leads to a partying way
maturing thru the years to become a respected adult
responsibilities and family life changes people
before time fly, aging needs a break
for real it does, it's not fair to fly
middle aged, worn out, heading to retirement
can't wait for that day, everyone says
to tell the true I rather work, that's my pitch
getting old for the rockers and the canes
just has to stay away, I have so many things to do
see more the world, meet many people
play with the kids and the grand kids
stop that hour glass from draining
I have a lot of things on my mind
time will take my mind
the wrinkles and the gray hair can wait

Our Small Town

Love going for walks around town
A small town a holler from the big city
The many old building lining the main street
Which by the way isn't main street that's a block away
From the small library to the high school a jot to get to
The sidewalks resemble the old boardwalks from yesteryear
The shops vary as the street winds to the highway
The country air blows thru the street full of manure
Good ole air, they say around here
The small diner with the local farmers dwell at
Talking of this year's events from farming to politics
The ladies at the sew shop talking gossip
It's amazing how time don't change as years pass
Every year the town picnic to the 4th July jamboree
To the harvest dance and everything in between
Small town people living the old time ways
Wishing every town was as good as it
Walking thru saying hey to neighbors all around
Can make everyday a good day
Seeing people in the park enjoying the kids play

Mauthe Lake

Long scenic drive to her
a beautiful park and lake
enjoying the crisp fall air
the beautiful fall landscape
the peacefulness she brings
the huge lake so calm this time of the year
a lone canoe with two fishermen afloat
trying to make a few late season catches
the waves so gently wave
the beach deserted, a few hikers here and there
the scenery so gorgeous, mother nature at her best
as I stroll the trails, you could hear a pin drop
the slight wind blowing thru the trees
a few birds still chirping, a few heading south
a squirrel here and there
the brisk air feels good on the face
the smell of fresh rain tingles the nose
as I walk the fishing pier I notice a few fishes
enjoying the lake without hooks harms
so peaceful to walk her mighty landscape

Winter's Cold

As the Weather turns colder
the landscape changes colorfully
beautiful shades of greens to lovely fall colors
to the cold of gray and whites
leaves tumble from the branches above
the temperature dropping so fast
send chills down our spines
time to bundle up for a cold winter season
Snow and cold will be upon us, sooner than we want
each winter brings a new tale
either freezing temperatures on heavy snows, sometimes both
snow brings skiers, sledders, skaters, ice fishermen to life
snow forts to snowmen everywhere
the beautiful white landscape comes to life
the sun's rays reflecting off the crystal snow
like glitter tossed around
so breathe taking to see and to enjoy
bundled up inside drinking hot chocolate
waiting for summer to come
beautiful winter turn your cold off and send us our summer sooner.

Love, You Don't know how Much

Hugs, kisses, and tearful goodbyes
going to be many miles apart
whether long or short trips
a picture of you in a purse or wallet
a reminder how beautiful in love with you
your smile makes the heck it journey more pleasant
thinking of you brings romantic memories
from the first time we met, our wedding dance
holding hands on a walk
so far away your are, but so close in my heart
till we meet again i hear your voice by phone
so soft and sweet, it brings tears of happiness
how special you are to me
you don't know how deep in love I am with you
no distance can keep me from you
our love grows stronger by the day
wait to hold you, to love you, to be with you
you don't know how much you really mean to me
as the miles grow closer and the time ticking by
I know I will be forever in love with you.

Special Olympian, Special People

They say they are different, but they are not
human just like us, just a little different
in life we treat them bad, they are really great
people can learn a lot from them
they treat no one different, we're all the same
you and I are all alike there should be no indifference
between body and mind no disabilities can keep them down
fighters they are, gentle they are by heart
most are friendly and very polite, easy to talk to
they have stories they love to tell
listen well because they can tell if your listening well
They are special in all ways, more in life then you and I
Give it all and don't be sad, the best time is having fun with everyone
I look forward to drive them to every Olympic event
from track to bocce ball to basketball and everything in between
Always giving it all, sweat, tears and smiles
some sad times, some great but they always rebound
to cheer and to clap on everyone before and after them
Special with Pride and dedicated with love
will never let you down

Stress Away

Stress can be brought on by many ways
family fights, work, love, bills, illness
whatever it is it can make us or break us
to find a way to relieve the stress can be a pain
walks, talks, separations, meditations can help
we all find a way. by the way we clear our minds
the true answer is hidden inside our souls
till we find the answer, bad things happen
fights, separations, loneliness, mind games
it eats at our minds and drains our energies
from wandering minds thru sleepless night
appetites loses as well, depression sets in
we wonder is there no end, will something bend
minutes becomes hours days to month to years
for we need to find a cure, before it consumes us
craziness, lies, fights, works can hurt
to find a way, we must breathe and think
is it worth the hurt, the pain, the strain
things that happen can not be changed
maybe repaired by time, love, mind

Generations

People are people no matter what age
from young to old, we're all the same
over the years the younger generation has changed
from crew cuts, long hair to colored punk does
the clothing it self has also changed, some coming back
dresses to mini skirts, dress pants to ripped blue jeans
but as they mature, so does us all
learn by mistakes, earn lots of trust
work together to make things better
how we remember our generation
fearless, rebels, protesters, demonstrators
but as we grow older we learn to adapt and deal with change
funny how the young minds think, till age is involved
back to traditions and status quo
changing the world takes a back seat to family life
we build society to deal with changes
we alone can not defeat change
it takes all to make the world a better place
something simple, maybe little could make a impact
work together, listen, trust, share can be the answers
