In a state of Zen! ! ! ! !
Children chuckle
As paper boats
Float in
Puddles.
Tap dance of
Rain
Makes
My hearts leap…
Birds
Screeching at
Midnight
In the city.
A small town

A Good Question
Why do you
Roll down the window
At every red light,
To give small change
To outstretched hands?
Why encourage
Begging, I feel enraged.
Don’t worry
I have a keen eye
And instinctively
Know who are really needy
It makes me
Less guilty.
When I pray
I am always
Asking God for something

Incognito! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Walk in
City’s familiar
And unfamiliar
Bylanes;
Incognito…
Can leave
The mask home
Who has time to glance?
It’s a city
Without a heart,
With only emptiness;
Spaces, though cramped
one jostles,
To wander
In anonymity,
Tears flowing
Down your cheeks.

A Handy Mouse
This rodent
Is obedient.
It helps me connect
In an instant
With the ones
I simply love.
It’s a cute mouse,
Never runs all over my house.
I have laid no traps
To tempt him with bread.
He sits in one place
And politely behaves.
He obeys my commands
And makes no demands.
It does have needs
Just some leads,

I Believe...
I believe
In miracles,
Have seen
Broken men heal,
And rebuild
Their lives
With grit,
Overcoming grief.
God
Knew
Suffering
Will give
Meaning
To
Human experience
Thus

Love is Not...
Love is not
Gazing at the same things
And expecting to agree
Over what we see.
But listening
To the others perspective,
And seeing through their eyes
With empathy and open mind,
even if you disagree.
We are all unique
So why this urge to
Make carbon copies?
Its part of
Being human
To allow others
the complete experience-
human and being

Tears
The pain of living
Too overwhelming,
heavy heart cries for mercy
tears and loud paroxysms
in the privacy of the bathroom
somehow removes blockages and release energy-
Mind clears, pain lifts,
Regain composure and feel
A deepening of awareness and being-
Inseparable part of life’s journey-
to smell the Roses,
bear with the thorns.
a good cry helps me reclaim
my innate resilience.

Can't You See...
you look lost and forlorn,
spend too much time on your own.
Tell me are you hurt,
look like a wounded bird.
who has clipped your wings,
why you always hum and sing...
Go for fresh air
Or say a prayer...
Well, I know you feel my pain
I don't know how to explain...
Can't you see,
You live with me
well if you must know,
where ever I go.

Escape
At times you want
To escape
Yourself,
You think
May be
Switching on the
TV set will work.
But it doesn’t,
So I head
For the kitchen
And bake a fresh loaf of bread,
A new recipe from my kitchen shelf.
It takes me
Out of myself.
Cooking I find always helps
It uplifts my mood,
And ah, the aroma of fresh food.

Frangipani! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Leaves like half burnt toast,
Hang from the shrivelled branches
Of Frangipani.
Come monsoon showers;
It comes to life and flowers,
Savours in delight…
Seduced by sweet scent
Moths drawn by the fragrance, flock
At night for nectar.
Do they have a clue?
It’s fruitless search for nectar;
Trick up nature's sleeve,
To help pollinate
As moths flit over flowers;
Play designated role…
