Strong Woman
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To hold us for nine long month,
And stand the pain of our arrival.
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To stand the insults hurled each day,
To stand the oppression and stand the blame.
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To keep a smile after an insult,
And make love like all was fine.
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To wake each morning the past forgotten,
I just wonder what makes a woman strong.

Beautiful Nation
Cradle of man, cradle of life
Your waters flow far and beyond
Rivers of life, rivers of peace.
Along the shores, beyoond the planes
Sweet melodious voices and Smiling faces
Childhood inocence, Pride of a people
Pride beyond pride.
Land of beauty, Pearl of the motherland
Beyond the skies, mountains arise
I see the Elgon, I see the Ruwenzori
The dark fertile soils, dark prideful roast.
A city of seven hills
Mother of one hundred tribes
Sons and daughters of many sheds all together as one.

A Child at War!
No bell, No warning, no flare, surrounded!
I see them all, blood in their eyes
I see the innocence deep within
There is no escape, one by one, away we march.
Young at heart, young at mind
We walk small, we talk small
Through the thicket through the river
Act weak, your throat is slit,
Look weak, you see no mercy.
I close my eyes, I see too much
Yesterday, the church hymns, my ABC's
Tomorrow, armed for combat.
Full of innocence, timid at heart
Off we go, but soon to return,
Full of courage, devoid of innocence,
Strong at heart, ready to mime,
Mummy, Daddy please forgive me!
