An Unregained

I'm not remembering her;
chancing to meet.
we greet
synchronizing expressions
trying to collect
memory bits from the past
as to place
and circumstance.

The Universe between
the Not-Remembered and the Half-Forgotten,
is not joy, not pain,
not past, not present;
this is a small-talk world;
agenda-less.

We talk-
minutes going on-
both hoping
for memory to lurch

Granite Melting

He had a face of chiseled granite
complete with stony smile
that face is embedded in my heart
which lies clutched here
in the long dark night;

frozen he and frozen I

know I should throw that face into the slough
in the back of the house, walk away

wash my hands with lava soup

and be clean of him.

But he lives in my mind
high up on Mount Rushmore

and I know chipping away at that
is hopeless work;

Life is the Alphabet

All life is the alphabet
from that moment the 'A'
in Alpha
meets the 'O' in Omega,
there then conception.

The B is cell division
and the growth of life.

C rounded out mother's tummy;

D was the ninth month and she
was sleeping on her side

E is her reaching out
to take child in her arms.

F is child's my first wobbly step;

G parental pride

I'm The One Your Mother Warned Against

I'm the one your mother warned against
'Beware she said 'of slow-moving intimacy
and a handsome, intense look
something a young girl longs for.'

'Beware, ' she said 'of a man's talking about his dreams
cause you find yourself buying a ticket to the moon
on a space ship that don't exist.
Beware of dark handsome eyes
because they hypnotize
and make you go all melty inside.

'I didn't listen' she said 'and married my Johnny Dangerous
but your father and I are the exception to all this.

'I'm the one your mother warns against' said Dad
'but you see she doesn't know what she is talking about.'
But you won't listen just like she didn't will you? '

I hop the back fence just below your bedroom window

I Want to Exist- Mary's Story

Answer me this;
riddle me that;

enigma-surrounded
I retreat,

to the isolated and the cruel snide
for solace

against you and others
who
think this is a debate,
or argument,
when for me
it is about
whether I exist.

No, gentlemen,
ladies we engage here
not in idle gossip wars

A Sliver Moon

I give you all my secrets from the passenger side
to me it felt like verbal orgasms

and you made love to them

stroking my soul

under a sliver moon

by the lake

bonding us in a velvet chain;

you place it around me with your silent lovings
your words caressed my willing heart-
my felt understandings

punctuated by your strong kisses rising.

We were mouth-breathing our histories

Bent Down Eyes

The terrible part was her confidence
which sat upon my chest like twenty dozen smiling roses;

she took my furtive glances
like candy munching languidly
on each and every one;
I could not help but feed her that day
unable not to look, marking her every gliding move, helpless;
she giggled a small giggle and glanced not at me,
but toward me-just enough to verify I was there granting her
that dry-mouthed attention, she loved, no craved,
each one she took in with a deep breath
which made her breasts seem to grow even larger than they were
this in turn made me gulp
and I could swear she knew or guessed,
her innocent dirty girl naughtiness took coy and made it sexy
to my helpless gaze;
a gaze I vowed this time I'd deny her
and like the glance-addict she was, she looked back,
eyes wondering where my appreciation glance had gone

The Sun In The Room

I rotated near her outer planets
hovering beyond Saturn's rings

allowing comets to go by me
unseen.

She was the Sun
attracting all of us
to the middle of the solar system,

and I was now just behind Jupiter
still, but being drawn
toward her center.

The buzz in the room;
the office party,
feigned humor,
the dip
the chips
all revolving around her.

Flower Buds-Skylar's Story

She said:

'I live sometimes on the Bitter Edge
and peer out,
stretching my arms;

I'll never really jump
but
the abyss below
excites me.
Then
I withdraw
retreating from the Leap
to be
that quiet me,
reserved.

I live sometimes and sip
hatefulness
because I have become used to it;

Good News- Bad News

Bad news-I am driving along and a car is bearing down me from the rear.
It keeps coming.

Bad news-The car hits my little car at 60 miles an hour-bam!

Good news-I keep control of the car for a second or two
then the car begins to skid.

Bad news-The car skids, swerves and overturns, flipping, flipping.
The world outside the wind shield revolves upside down.

Bad news-Things go blank and I see water coming into the car;
I had landed in the river.

Good news-I am sinking but not yet under water.

Bad news- The water starts to come in faster and faster.

Bad news- The water keeps coming in the car. It is sinking.
It is over my head.
