Twos and Threes

Relationships live or die
from the Threes and Twos;

You and I
may love our best;
your needs
my needs
may meld or clash;

but as long as we're
the Twos
we will fail;

and the relationship
will delve down the deeps.

Yours vs. Mine
Right vs. Wrong
Your Family,
My Family,

Chivalry

I saw you across the room
and my heart stopped.

You noticed
and I looked away.

I saw you across the room
this time you didn't see
me looking at you.

I moved my eyes
across the all of you
moved my lips
feeling my breath stop.

'Beautiful' I thought
'just a beautiful man'

Not supposed to notice
all the pretty men,

Dark Dancing- Elle

There were moments
when she slipped
again to the edge of her solitude
which in full view exuded its dark charm;
she gazing it in the eye
her hand in my hand
my bringing her back
this once more again

back but still drawn
still able
in the next moment
to say yes
to that sweet interiorality
that withdrawalness
brings.

No one in there but her
when she went there;
no pressure;

More Me

I am what they call plain pretty,

an in-betweener

not really pretty

not really plain

and I attract guys

who see me as a compromise

from what they really what-

the cheer leader blond

with the hot bod.

I am the bland personality

The Weeping Earth

I am the upside down man,
when in a hole I dig deeper
thinking it is up;

I use my satin blindfold
if I need to see.

All my memories
are fragmented media remnants
and I call it living for the moment.

I am the inside out man

I plot to never admit or take the blame,
I kiss evil on the mouth
enjoy turmoil,
and chaos
because they make my inside out,

and that makes me feel whole.

Show Me All- Bob's Permutations

If I could consume you, I would
that is the hunger that lives.

If you could offer consumption too
it all would meld-
desire mounting the sky-
the heavens opening to need;
meaning seating itself among the relentless stars;
but I hesitate
when confronted with the unknowing,
singed with burned past experience
from which I made the secret vow not to risk to much openness
since hurt still lives in fear-draped cobweb corners of my psychic
where all I gained was abandonments
and emptied out vows which never came to be.

Yet I I know you too need to risk that vast abyss.
I know you feel the need as well
to turn inside out

Splatters of Regained Hope

A rainbow fell down today
crashed into a million pieces
of rainbow light
and no one noticed.

There was Hope being
mugged quietly
but it was ok
because there was no scene;
so no one noticed
and that made it ok.

I am sure that all saw
Desperation Eyes
staring;

but you know
only so much of this can be taken;
after a while
it is not real

Asunder

No hand could stay
the wretched turn
the taciturn display
the finger-tipped purpose,
the closed door
which she pulled aside;
sliding glass on smooth tracks
and sideways turned
she eased out
to the patio
where in the dark
her lover hid
behind the foliage bush
in the creeping night;
and I could only mute observe
how lightly deception walks
in the gloaming
where warm arms wait.

I suspend my hopes in squinted sight

Conveyings

I have taken Yesterday
wrapped it in time and space
aligned it with previous weeks and days,
inside sliver months;

plucked stars down for your hair,
laid down silly smiles;
and lover's whisperings;
with silent sittings between you and I
cryptic written notes;
walks into fading sunlight;
gentle glancings
surging breathings
hands outreaching
and they'll all not
convey
the way it was
and will be.

I'll not count the fathoms deep

The Three of Us.

The two sat down with their Relationship
and a soup-bowl of their mutual memories
the two lovers complaining that the other
had not given what they needed.
Each spoke after a sip of tainted memory.

She said 'You never thought of what I needed
that which pleased you is what mattered.
I was left with kids and bills as you escaped
to job and night out with the boys.
He said:
I thought I had married a princess and as it turns out
I had hired my own critic who's never satisfied.
And whittled down I have only 15 years and thirty extra pounds to show for it.
With that he took his tablespoon and sipped a double dip.

Finally relationship spoke:

All these years I have seen you two value the combat
more than I.
