Down To The Sea
I went down to the sea
to wash my sins away
I went down to the sea
to cleanse myself of lusting after revenge
of guilt slinging
of lying when speaking
of not having the courage to speak the truth
of turning my back when I should have stood and faced things
I went down to the sea to wash my sins away
of neglect of others
of those I hated upon
cursed silently
of times I threw anger in someone's face
abused the weak
and those who couldn't fight back or whom were mute.
I went down to the ocean shore
to sink beneath the waves.

Human Beings
Uncle Dan said
'now listen
There's right and there's wrong
and there two kinds of people:
those that can't be trusted to be right
and those that cannot be trusted with being wrong.
Take out the microscope and lets' see
what that person does when they
have you in the wrong.
If they treat you like you ain't' human
anymore
then that is the face of evil.
I worry more about those who
think they's absolutely right tho
than those that know's they's wrong.

Who Am I?
The problem with what I think is that what I think
keeps changing so I don't know what I think permanently.
The problem with what I feel is that I have many different feelings,
many times hundreds in a given day; many contradictory.
Trying to create order from this chaos I decide that there is only one thing
I believe
and decide
to have one opinion or one philosophy;
but the world intervenes and forces me to look at things again.
If I refuse then I look like I am stubborn, rigid and some kind of kook
who thinks what he thinks and never changes.
The problem with what I think is that the world constantly intervenes
and changes who I am and, therefore, what I think today or this year,
leaving me with the choice then between being the cork on the sea

Hero Stuff
The climbing high was stone by stone
bloodied hands and striated hearts
scattered behind on the trail;
some crying years
and many happy ones;
but our life has been to be sure an upward struggle
to mountain climb, one after another.
Yet at each boulder and rock you offered me
a rope and line
and each time lifted up
me along with your self.
How can a climber of rocks lift both self
and another, but you do so and have done.
This is hero stuff and you are mine.
Beaten back and beaten down you surpassed
all that
was placed in your path and humor greeted

The Cold Drive And A Warm Night-chapter one
I picked her up in the deep snow
hair piled to the side of her face,
snowflakes sparkles
sprinked there;
and our heavy breathing
made smoke clouds
as I made my way,
carrying her to the cabin
where I was staying, working on the new book.
I lay her down
inside the comforter
after pealing away her wet clothing
and laying them aside in front of the fire.
She slept as I massaged her face
and her arms
to bring back the circulation.
I heated a towel

Sideways
My love mesmerizes you;
its your intoxication.
I see your soul
singing with every glance I give,
every heart tug
you too evince in me,
with just one
of those smiles of yours.
You pose in my view,
twirl slightly,
give me sudden side-way
glance
just like in the movies,
counting my heartbeats
which you can hear from across the room.
Oh, you love my smitten-ness.

A Silk Rose
She made me a silk rose
for my summertime;
thornless
and I
in youth's haze
mistook it as gesture only
and fed it to my ego.
She leaned to kiss me in Summer Light
a gift she'd never offered to anyone before;
I took in her breath blithfully
she exhaled
merely smiling
her wise smile
older than her years;
twilight shadows playing upon her face
as I oar'ed the boat
behind her house
she drinking in my rough vitality
and I

Virgin Love Always Blosoms
I'll not need to possess your kiss
and sequester it
in my soul space prematurely.
I'll not need to pick you up
and carry you across the threshold.
No urge here to possess you
even if I urgently feel the need
since that is only really possible voluntarily;
flowers only really open to sunshine
warmth and feelings,
and you are my best flower-lover.
I'll not urge you to excess beyond your reach
but wait for your natural desires to mature
and move toward me
ripened eyes
open and willing;
that way is best.

Twilight's Love
I am summer's breath
light as sky
floaty as a feather tip.
I love warmth
and humming bird flutterings
which
to me fly
summer sweet.
You are intense,
a darker hue
almost possessed,
obsessed
with wanting to spend
every minute with me.
Yet
can Summer Fire
and Winter Cold

Who Am I? -Cory's Story
I am running all the time
but I'm running down hill;
I am thinking all the time
but clear thinking is foggy to me most times.
I do things sometimes and can't remember what.
I do things sometimes and can't remember why.
I have days I just want not to see no one;
just want to hide.
I think certain days
others are looking at me.
I think certain days
others are better than me.
I don't want to go into certain things in detail-
