A Perfect of One
So if this kiss
I mean to kiss
happens and it
runs amiss
and you or I
suffer disappointment
will we forever eschew
the kissing
and its sweet intents
because we sought
that which was more perfect
than either of
us?
That I guess would be silly.
But how sweet is the love
held in our breasts
how wonderful is the kiss never made
how perfect the kiss before the touch of lips
gentle touch;
and the kiss is done;

Dark Lords
I walk and my eyes uplift
I cannot see ground;
my footsteps seem
gravity-defying.
Concourse with my
Inner Soul
has transmogrified;
a corner catchment
of random bliss
side-swiping me suddenly.
Frightened I was sure
I was ill.
How came it to be
that my unhappiness
took leave
stranding me
on some Less Sorrowful Shore;
what then can be my stance

Summer At Night
We dance under the nascent moon
delicate twirls, eye twinkles
and tree shadows
far away horns blowing
and I
take your hand;
delicately
placed lips
linger there
as soft
soft breaths
straddle index
and ring fingers
and you quiver quietly.
I hear the night owl hoot
musical strains
from the dance
sail out to us
offering a caress

Hunting
'Where 'she said
'does love live? '
Is it in your eyes?
I have looked there;
I look there every day.
Is it in your heart?
I know it beats
but some days
it is so faint;
In your mind?
That is opaque.
Tell me where does your love for me live?

Impressionments
You gave me your heart
I folded it into my trophy memoirs
having not learned yet
that hearts yearn for summer
not winters cold blowings.
You gave me your smile
I added it to my cumulative memory knickknacks
on my hearts-broken knickknacks shelf
in our tensed clutchings
I misunderstood
the virginity
you gave
in your parents bedroom
counting it as my humiliation
not sensing
your dismayments
and confusions
as to
what was

A Treasure Box
So soon this time
melts away
like you;
my common sense
sometimes
leaves me too
like you.
Often I am blind
and cannot see
the You before me;
many times I need
help to see
desperately
from you.
I lay down with you

Adore-Ability
'I just want to know how love feels
and no one can tell me'
she said
'I've tried to love someone
but I do only for a while
and I get bored
or I run away.
when I sense they
will one day see through
me
and reject me-
so I leave-
or reject them first.
I don't believe that anyone
who really gets close to me
will really really love me
when they find out what I am really like.'
He said:

Hugging School
Every one loves-
I am convinced of that,
it is just that
some do it so badly.
Perhaps we should have a Love School
so these sorts can practice up
on their hugging.
I know it sounds strange
but we have some of you
that can't
or won't do it
and when you do,
you do it badly.
Oh, you don't notice
but kids do.
A half-hearted hug-

The Dry Tear Down
They found her dried tears
at the beach
beneath the sand;
in a phone booth
where calls came from;
inside Cruelty's Eye;
at the edges of Sharp Words,
in eddies whirling in Mean-Spirited Space;
in the crevices of a Frowning Brow;
in the Back Hand and redden cheeks;
in the tracks of her Child-Hood memories;
on carpeted floors
where she had lain,

The Soul's Season
Souls have music, which if shared, is transforming
and I was too upon hearing yours
Spirits fly and seldom land
but when they do hearts soar;
mine flew when your Spirit lighted.
I’m convinced that children are the angels
we humans are allowed
(well, most of them)
and are reminders of why we former cave dwellers
are on this earth.
I am convinced that seeing forever
is best done through another’s eyes;
that loving most is learned best
when one learns to love that which is not ourselves.
