To All My Daughters
To all my daughters who
run with their hair loose
on sunny days,
who still play dress up
in thrift store gowns;
who when together still laugh
and giggle
all at the time.
Who lay our tables this
holiday
with their own special delights
which is angel cake
sugar eyes
plum pudding noses
pumpkin pie
and rose flavored
wine.
And beauteous,

I Should Have Been More Like Her
The little man
on my shoulder says
I should have been more
like her,
sugar sweet
but that's not me.
He says
I should have been more like her-
move to deceive
to keep him;
I'll not;
even if the price I pay
is Lonely.
Should have been
more observant
perhaps
and noticed all this
but mine

Dreamers
I see trees of Gold
leaves of silver
in my dream land
flowers that sing
birds that dance
hippos do the fandango
and I
cry
tears of joy.
I see the Peace of Angels
hearts which meld
and join at the soul's juncture
in my dream land
I see cats doing cartwheels

I am-Dorothea Speaks
'I have crossed many roads, she said
but taken none.
My path has always been sideways
rather than straight.
So long has been my rebellion
that I remain the only one
who has never settled
and now I am a majority of one.
And I have my rewards for all this
but one that I miss
is not having a path about which reminisce
and this always makes me feel odd person out
at housewarmings and weddings
And there I reject the idea that I am the bridesmaid
no, I am the adventuress
the one who went to Africa
traveled to Europe on hope and fifteen cents;

Poetries
Step lightly here;
Words below:
Adverbs too.
Be ginger with the Sentences;
Note: the Clauses have so much Ego.
Oh, let's not talk Punctuation,
the pickiness makes for unrelating.
I have had a personal thing about
the Pluperfect Tense,
before I learned to get it right-
I think.
Now, I do like the Action Verbs
they stand out.
But the Hyperbolic Adjectives are overused,
don't you think?

A Side By Side
There was no epiphany,
no thunder from the skies
that day;
nothing so drama-filled;
it was more a soft release
a settling in;
a peek into your soul
by me,
which said
this person
is the one
I'm with.
It was not Love' Bells ringing
from steeple tops
or rose petal garden paths,
but it is Devotion's Arrow which penetrates deeper still
than the ones Cupid carries.
Devotions shaft

Treading Lightly
I lather up all my memories
and shave my face at its edges
utilizing blade and steel
to cut tiny hair stalks
away
underneath to
reveal
a new me
with perhaps also
tiny blood stains
etched into that new face
and braced
in the mirror-glow
I look at the new me
there
making my daily vow
to make the newly-shaven me
shine this day

The Dream Real
A pelt of down
feather-light
floats near by,
its gentle face
summer bright,
landing upon
my sleeping heart
to warm its cockles
in the night.
lt slumbers on
re-assured
that the Soul's Cloth
rests too
there
that night.
I wish to be for you my dear
a downy pelt

Cat Album - 2
I have an album collection
of moments
stray and deliberate;
each dependent
upon time and circumstance;
friends, years attached and bright shiny faces.
There too
are written
words,
paper clipped
in decade stacks,
categorized
and organized,
they lie
on my mind's desk-
like cats
lounging

Well, It Worked For Me
First thing I say each night
is
I am my own Lover;
my own best friend.
At first it was words
I did not mean
but over time
I could fill in detail
from little things
that happened each day.
Something positive to celebrate
no matter how small
a smile
a thing small but done
a sincere feeling
given and received.
Busy, I was
