Darkness
the darkness fills the air
i dream yet i do not feel
i see yet i am blind
what is this life i ask
i do not know
i do not know
i feel yet i am numb
i see your smile
i see your pretty face
my heart beats for you
this i know this i know
i can not tell you this
i know i know yes i know
i dream yet i cannot see
a world of darkness
fills the air that i breathe
why must it be this way
i don`t know i don`t know
i cannot see i cannot see
the darkness fills my heart

Dust
As we drift through life
like a speck of dust in the air
seeking out good times
in which to share
with this heart that really cares
and as we drift through the days
our hopes start to fade
seeking dreams we never made
on a road never paved
with crumbled foundations that we had laid
waiting patiently for the dust to settle
in the hope that things get better
as I sit and write this letter
in my mind I try to be clever
seldom am I ever
in this world i`m never
will this dust remain forever

Imaginary Creatures
In this make believe world
imaginary creatures dangle from the trees
In a forest where emotions run free
For what they feel they never agree
It`s a future they will never see
In a forest with closed doors
The imaginary creature holds the key
To a future that will never be
So as i walk this forest of make believe
I search no more for what i see
It`s just creatures dangling from the trees
In a life that will be as they see
So i`ll just leave this forest be
And search no more for that key

Stranger
the world is growing stranger
always full of danger
like being lost in a forest
endangered by nature
yet being found by a ranger
nothing could be stranger
since the world is our chamber
full of human strangers
makes me kind of wonder
if we`ve made some kind of blunder
in the way we treat each other
because a stranger is just a brother
we all need one another
we`re here to help each other
thru the stroms thru the thunder
let`s put a stop to all the hunger
because we are not just another number

Spring
There`s nothing like the flowers of spring
Feeling the breeze of a summer wind
Thinking of all the places that i`ve been
To not appreciate would be a sin
So love and cherish the season winds
When i walk through the park
Knowing it`s the place to start
I sit on the swing
And listen as the birds all sing
Wishing I too had wings
And the freedom that they bring
To make me feel as if i`m king
With the power from a magical ring
I would declare all year as spring
And enjoy all the love that it would bring

Lou, Sue and the church pew
Oh girl when i look at you
why is it you look so blue
are you waiting for a dream come true
are you searching for a clue
do you want to begin anew
in a time thats long overdue
fun times theres been a few
true happiness you never knew
you married a guy named Lou
it was a love that never grew
so you fooled around with a lover or two
even with a man you never knew
so you go to church and sit in a pew
you sat beside a girl named sue
turned out she knew lou too
seems you both share the same view
that brought you to this church pew

Words spoken
Words are spoken from the depth of the soul
Sometimes these words can be so cold
Like rotten cheese turning to mold
They come from a soul that we have sold
Sometimes we sound really bold
When kind words are never told
With nothing good to say
To make someone`s day
All we do is speak words that scold
So much so our soul grows old
Speaking from emotions uncontrolled
Breaking someone`s heart
That was once made of gold
So as we grow old
May you be foretold
Don`t leave a kind word untold
For a word is spoken from the depth of our soul

Apple in a tree
Love is hard i see
Like an apple in a tree
Not ready to be picked
It may make you sick
Sometimes we have to let it be
Time can be the key
Let it ripen
Just wait and see
Let it soften
Before you get on your knee
Take your time
Just move with ease
Like an apple in a tree
Some are rotten
Just let them be
Some are red
Wait for the right word to be said
Some are green
Sometimes they can be mean
Some are yellow

Prince
She rides off toward the setting sun
with hopes and dreams of having fun
to a place where her worries are none
where she`s no longer the only one
alone for so long and her love so far gone
wondering why her life went so wrong
as she listens to her favorite song
on a ride that seems so long
to a place where she belongs
in a search for her prince to come
i haven`t heard from her since
yet i remain unconvinced
because i too had a wish
that just got lost in the mist
but she didn`t know she was on my list
that someday i wish to be her prince
so now i`ve been unhappy ever since

The subway home
Riding on the subway home
Some people on the phone
Some people ride alone
People who worked all day
Because of bills they need to pay
The homeless guy has no place to stay
He just looks for a place to lay
When we stop at the station
They all go their separate ways
Back to their homes back to their caves
Little left for them to save
military man looks so brave
he just got home from an overseas stay
Blind man stands and sways
Father jay sits and prays
Sometimes i wish there was another way
In a life that seems to decay
How i wish i could get away
To a peaceful place someday
