Ghost of Paris
Fauvist moon smooth like Newton
Relative without warning
Nothing shall stop the coming cubes
Ulysses talks a new language
Sate painters in café haven
Change the motif of dragons
Avengers of amethyst poetry
Language of the future laughs
Choreographed in splinters of war
Stravinsky dances without melody
Gertrude Stein sighs like a panther
Art fornicates with Paris
Form relinquishes like deco stars
Boundaries melt into stage sets
Embrace the modern deluge
Freedom and choice celebrate
Boundless sea of color
Surrealism tides of the Mediterranean
Chagall, Matisse, Picasso, Braque

The Vulnerable
Is your heart capable of love?
Or is the past filled with ravens?
Love is a spring day amidst the grief
Many no longer feel it
Lust takes the place of the sun
Hearts fill with stone
The temptation too not feel
Loss of trust
Replaced by dark dreams
Vulnerability a thing of the past
Dark castles deep with chains
Imprisoned by self exile
Do you remember the days of blue?
When fields were filled with spring
Innocent dreams came like robins
Everything was a song of life
Visions of a first kiss like a rose
Lovely wild flowers blossomed
Smiles touched the bedrock of dreams

Tonight I Feel Connected
Brave moonbeams penetrate my soul
Reflections of the suns humility
Jupiter decorates the serene night
Star gazing brings shooting stars
I feel sane amidst all the chaos
Creation seems to have a Holiness
Crickets sound like great gentle choirs
We all should listen to Thoreau
Silence and solitude our great teachers
Wisdom whispers in a vast garden
Beethoven would take long walks
Poetry needs connection with the constant
Prayer and meditation makes the heart burn
I walk behind Wordsworth and Shelley
Silent boughs loom in nights moonlit shadows
Tonight I am in the presence of the noble

Shamans and Dreamers
Rise to the occasion, feathers and drums
Let the colors of the rainbow shine
These myths have faces, let them dance
Music is a shaman
Ghosts play in the sacred fire
Ancient voices come out of their graves
Vast rivers of life flow in quiet soul
Visions shelter interior hallways
Dreamers induce the mystic pathway
Cool summer breeze deep with ancestry
Eyes of night bright with oracles
The old clock chimes
Moonlight glow on the lake
Wolfs howl in the distant forest
Tears bring memories by a camp fire

Grace Sufficient
Golden fields praise the morning sun
Dreams rise in the cool calm day
Autumn winds blow crisp dried leaves
Blue sky shines and clouds play
November courts my imagination
Walk by the wise river flowing in light
Geese flock for their long journey south
Beauty amongst birch, oak and pine
The frosty glaze of night has melted
Many sea gulls still fish and feed
Green grass thrives on a sunny day
I walk in quiet with thoughts deep
Lately my dreams wake me with tears
So many people lonely and in pain
I miss so many friends that have left
Sometimes it all seems so vain

The Lonely
The lonely live in silent moonlight
Waiting for dreams with open hearts
Soft words ripple the serene water
The sky is dark, the universe silent
A winter leaf falls to the ground
Alone in the cold wind
Through the wilderness I hear your cry
I wish I could come to your longing heart
I too am searching for the golden kingdom
Through the curtain a light shines faint
We are together in soul and spirit
Children of a dream, waiting, watching
The morning will come soon, sleep my dear
We hope we are in someone else's dream
Hearts are deep wells and fill with sorrow
Today isn't tomorrow, the lonely think it is

Holy Family
Your lovers are superficial post cards
You twist every word with your hunger
I am the lion of Libra
You are the silk of a prison
We echo the wars of the flesh
Worldly Egypt
Recluse as guilt
Profound as shame
Now the citadel has a light
The tower is a beacon
High tides bring in ancient prayer
Maybe we can be together
Maybe revelry was only a mask
There in the broken moonlight
There in the despair of self will
We see the truth
Love hides like a broken dream

I'll Be Waiting
I watch the river like a clock
Sunset scallops of pink shells
Moon soon to shine
Breeze as light as whispers
Freedom in the leaves
Trees remind me of sanity
Away from all the shills
Away from the profound
Away from the money changers
Night draws out my muse
Come to me beyond age
No converse
No sordid paragraphs
No conceptions of myth
Bring your penance
Bring your coloring books
Violet sweetness
Red apple apogee

Serpents Head
Roam the dry place waiting for breaches
Rapture of pride titillated by thorns
We are the children of the broken dream
Who hung the stars before our vacant eyes?
Run into the children of Cain
They wait for the dark man
Brooks speak of the rising sun
I have left the shadow of time
Olive tree with tendrils to the garden
Fruit of the true tree
Springs of living joy
Militant man of earth
Helmets with brazen Rome
Man of the state
Man of the steeple
Man of ideology
Military man
Your solutions die at Armageddon

Spanish Winds
Spanish silver eyes dream of summer nights
Lovers entwined like cathedral candlelight
Brusque bas-relief pastels of open space
Poetry rhymes in cadence of world art
Pilgrims of fine luster from a grand age
Walk quietly amidst Mediterranean stars
Mountain villages rest serene by the sea
Preserved time felt keenly on every street
Barcelona is a vision that always haunts me
Picasso’s world where the old and new meet
Catalonia a separate place in space and time
Hear the tide roll and feel the fire of soul
Hemingway hears bells drinking Spanish wine
History and wars like visions of Goya grow
I sit by the sea listening to a Spanish Guitar
Singing like the winds of Madrid from afar
Tonight Spanish winds caress lover’s hearts
As we gaze at the wondrous light of the stars
