Mortality Sighs

She wants too much
Meaning is the ultimate treasure
She wants more of me
She likes owning
We are the souls of a storm
Darling we are leaving forever
We are the sojourning wind
We are more than dust
I want you in heaven
I want you in eternity
Making love has such depth
We just can't do it forever
Her black silk stockings have belts
Her red toe nails like heaven
Her high heels are open toed with straps
Time slips away with wet haven
Mortality sighs

She Lays Me

Hallways as empty as tombs
Bells of black silk
Barren birch tree
Twisted sacrosanct candles
Voices in the mirror
Succubus tongue
Is it you my dark hope
Have you come like a prison
Legion of wolf eyes
Hands folded in your coffin

Wind like witch whisperings
Leaves on the ground
Dry sacrifice
Summer is over forever
Will you haunt me forever?
I fear the moon
Punished and banished
Branded by fallen kisses
Do ghosts make love?

Islands Without Sea

All this distance
Worlds apart yet there it is
We live amidst the cold winds
Lamont silver candles without heart

Old photos like summer sun
Time changes like a silent chill

She sleeps with unawareness of my pain
I play like a prison yard
Disconnected and civil
Vacuous gray sentences
Slow withdrawal
Muster your lust in place of love
Count the compensations
Superficial ribbons and bows
Frost on the trees
All the diminished returns

Islands without sea

How I Wish

Veins of black tar head for the mountains
Something beautiful about the plains
Something mysterious thru the badlands
Ghost Buffalo
Sacred beads
Tears

She burns sage like a shamans soul
Can you feel the eyes in old houses?
A New Jersey poet is racing in the street
American dream dying outside mansions

Fatigues
Camouflage
Wars in the American heart
How I wish these cages were open
How I wish these fences were gone
How I wish my dream catcher was filled

This Memrial Day

Pure water like a virgin sea
I miss you so!
Just a man in a horrible war
You died so young my father

Today at your grave I cried
I cry so little outside self pity
How I wish I could hear you
How I wish I could see you
Soon I will come home

The guns are silent
I look at your purple heart
I remember your 21-gun salute
The taps, the pure tears

Mom lies by you
My brother Jim next to her
Little flags and flowers on the graves

Rice Fields

Diminutive rice paddy's cry
Villages copulate with war
Shedding all but the soul
We tremble like dying leaves
Sacred soil of our ancestors
Sacred sky of all the gentle
Thatch huts burn in the night
Flags fly like charred flesh

Now the wind has new visitors
Ghost that walk main street
Ghost of children’s dreams
No silhouettes in candlelight
Where is the moon for her daughter?
Eyes of endless rain
Tides driven by guns and fire
She stares at the rice fields

Still so Beautiful

Rosewood time where mother smiles
Youth samples the brightest stars
Indigo rapture the breath of freedom
Surry sky where life seems forever
Lorry seasons the roads of romance
Karma maps the trials of love
I shall plant always

Autumn is only another circle
Renewal is a sweet child of mercy
I shall walk the sea again
We are children until we close our hearts
Light the fire and feed your mind
The moon still shines in your eyes
Darling you’re still so beautiful

Welcome Back

Scarab of the queen’s inquisition
Searched like a burning fire
Streets are cleaned for the coronation
Beckoned by loyal loneliness
She is the parade of fear
No confidence in the blind mirror
I stare at her with deep compassion
I know where her soul hides
She needs to know I love her
The rain has stopped
The flowers bloom
Oceans kiss gardens
Take the knife from your heart
Self inflicted prisons are the worst
It is so good to see you smile again
Welcome Back

Live It

If you're against abortion publish that you will help support the unwed mother and take her into your home and help support the baby rather than giving to the local church ran like a business taking another offering for a building fund.
I'm sick of pastors living like CEO's making money like a business and practicing nepotism and getting their wife new cars and their kids college educations while poor people sit in their congregations laid off by outsourced jobs.

Live Jazz

Quarter notes bold and gold
The hi-hat marches
Snare like a general
Melody and counter melody
Bass moving and dancing
Tonight the band is tight
Colors of the city night
Passive aggressive art
Themes and sketches
Tension and release

Piano, standup bass, sax
Tube amps warmed up
Draw on the forgotten forests
The wild dreams
Unity, abstraction, trance
Fires in the shaman garden
Forget your walls
Cultured urban libido
Symbiotic democracy
