Lovers
Love's a poor shelter, whatever you say,
The cover flaps in the wind,
rain gets in the ceiling,
Yet here we come to kindle
In a loving gesture or a glance
A little warmth beneath the hungry stars.
While overhead there stretches a vast sky,
stony, infinite,
And utterly indifferent to our brief ecstasy.

False Love
I should have known that seducing you
Was a hurtful and damaging thing to do.
I should have cared for the person inside
Instead of which I joked and lied.
I didn't care one bit for you,
I was just determined to'have a sc**w'.
(I suppose it flattered my foolish pride
That you lay awake that night and cried.)

Neighbours from Hell
They've come to live here
Instead of the city,
The boys are so 'hard'
And the girls ain't pretty,
They're playing loud music
And dropping their litter,
Is it any wonder
The old folks are bitter?
It's no use pretending
Things'll get better,
They're a pain in the rump
And there's an end to the matter!

Georgia (2008)
Putin's recruitin',
He's bombin' and shootin',
There's no disputin'
He's stickin' the boot in! !
In Georgia the people weep,
It was a truce they couldn't keep,
Meanwhile, let's all go back to sleep.
(Till there's a knock on the door at four in the morning!)
It's Russian roulette
And we haven't won yet! !

Girl in a Bar
You're so uncool
But I don't care,
Don't like cool girls....
You're no-one's fool,
You got those curls
And ringlets in your hair.
You sure ain't hip,
(Perhaps you're square!)
But I don't care,
You got those curls....
Come home with me,
We'll have some fun,
I'll shoot my gun,
And you can be my only one.

A Bit of the Other
There's nothing that Kevin likes more
Than telling his friends he's going to score -
It's getting to be a bit of a bore,
She's probably a tart, or some old whore!
I know there's something he likes to lick
But personally that makes me sick!
I wonder what makes Kevin tick?
Perhaps the answer lies in his prick! !

Graveyard Kiss
While you are rotting underneath the earth,
Consumed by worms and maggots,
Utterly dead,
I lie alive and cosy in my bed.
But I have not forgotten you,
I still go down to the cemetery.
For what it's worth
I would not miss
Your graveyard kiss.
Dear Love, I've not forgotten you!
Your bony fingers bring me bliss.

A Quarrelsome Old Woman
Once upon a time
You loved him very much,
You dreamt of him each night
And trembled at his touch,
Now you nag and scold,
Your grumblings never cease,
The man you loved is old
And you will not give him peace.
Is this the fruit of love?
The gentle gift of age?
I pray to God above
To shield him from your rage! !

On Hearing of the Death of the First Woman Soldier in Afghanistan
In Afghanistan in the bitter strife
The first woman soldier loses her life
With three of her friends who also die
In a 'mobile coffin', blown sky high.
Could you please tell me, if you know for sure,
Just what it is we're fighting for?
'A War on Terror'- I've heard that before!
When are we going to finish this war?

An Answer to a Homosexual Advance
WHAT did you say? !
I'm just NOT GAY! !
Just go away,
I've had a tiresome day
And I'm not prepared
To listen to sh*t,
You'd do well to be scared
'Cos you might get hit!
I've put young girls
In the family way -
Not proud of it,
I'm just a sh*t,
But at the end of it
I'm just NOT GAY,
It's time to quit
So GO AWAY! !
