Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Matthew (Chapter 11)
When Jesus had given commands to each,
He went away to towns to preach and teach.
When of his works, then John from prison heard,
He sent his disciples to Him and asked,
‘Are you the one to come or Messiah
Or should we be in search for another? ’
Jesus said, ‘Tell John, what you hear and see.
The lame can walk, the blind again can see;
The deaf can hear, lepers are cleansed truly;
The dead arise alive, the poor have peace;
Proclaimed is Good News to them poor with ease.
Blessed’s the one who takes no offence at me.’
Then Jesus told the crowds about John’s deeds:
‘In desert, simply dressed, on locusts feeds
A man called John, more than a prophet stayed,
To tell about God’s kingdom, God had made.’
‘This is the one about whom it is writ:

Bible Stories: Job (Chapter XXXI)
What lot to man does God provide?
‘What to give? ’- How does He decide?
For unrighteous, is it not woe,
And misfortune, for Maker’s foe?
Does He not watch keenly my ways?
Does He not count my footstep’s pace?
Let God’s just scales weigh me for once,
Thus, He will know my innocence.
If I’d in falsehood ever walked,
And tongue in deceit ever talked!
If I’d at times, gone ev’r astray,
And heart had followed my eyes’ way…
If stained are hands of mine some way,
And I had lived a life all gay,
Then, may I sow to others eat,
And uprooted get plants out neat.

Bible in Poetry: Revelation 22
The River of Life:
1 And then the angel showed to me
The river of water of life,
As clear as crystal, and which flowed,
From the throne of God and the Lamb,
2 And down the city’s middle street.
On either side of river stood,
Tree of life, with twelve crops of fruit,
And yielding fruit on every month.
The leaves of tree healed all nations.
3 No longer will there be a curse.
The throne of God and of the Lamb
In city, and servants serve Him.
4 They’ll see His face then directly;
His name will be on their foreheads.
5 There will be no more night at all.
They will not need a lamp-light’s help,
Nor light of sun, for God gives light.
And they will reign forever, ev’r.

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Mark (Chapter 4)
The parable of the sower:
As Jesus taught by the sea-side,
A multitude had gathered fast;
He sat on a boat at sea therefore;
While people stayed ashore!
He taught by mostly parables;
To know the Kingdom, it enables.
Behold, a sower went to sow;
Some seeds fell by the way-side but;
And quickly birds devoured them.
Some fell on stony ground, sans soil;
The seeds did sprout but didn’t have roots;
The scorching sun withered them all!
Some fell ’midst thorns, which choked them,
And they could not yield any fruits!

Bible in Poetry: Revelation 1
Prologue:
1The revelation of Jesus
Christ, which God gave John to show all,
His servants, of what must take place.
He made it known through his angel,
To his beloved servant John.
2 John testifies to things he saw—
The word of God, the Father and
Testimony of Jesus Christ;
3Bless’d is the one who reads the words
Of prophecy that’s here-in writ,
And blessed are those who hear it,
And take to heart whatev’r is writ,
Because the time is very near.
Greetings and doxology:
4John, to Asia’s seven churches:
Grace, peace to you from Him who is,

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Mark (Chapter 15)
As morning came, the whole Sanhedrin crowd-
Chief priests, elders and scribes, held a council;
They bound and handed him o’er to Pilate;
When Pilate asked, “Are you the king of Jews? ”
He said to him in reply, “You say so! ”
The chief priests accused Him of many things;
And Pilate asked Him, “Have you an answer?
How many things they accuse you of, Look! ”
But Pilate was amazed as He didn’t talk.
They used to free a prisoner on feast days.
A murderer called Barabbas was brought in
From prison with rebels, for murder crimes;
The crowd pressed Pilate do as was custom;
Pilate asked, “Shall I free the ‘King of Jews’? ”
He knew the chief priests had envy on Him.
They made the crowd to free just Barabbas.
“What should I do with Jesus? ” asked Pilate.
They shouted together, “Crucify Him.”

A Tribute to Our Beloved Mom, ‘STELLA’
(On The Occasion of her Sad Demise …)
Our mom is not alive anymore, oh!
She’s gone to be with God forever, so;
She had a sudden exit from the earth;
Nevertheless, it was a peaceful, death.
Last time I met her, she looked quite healthy;
She was already aged more than ninety;
Her talk and attitude had us impressed;
But in her heart of hearts, she was distressed.
She’d thought, her time had come to say ‘Good-bye’;
She lived as if she was ready to die;
She had prepared for this for quite a while;
She lived in fear of God but fearless style.
Her life was exemplary from the start;
She loved to live but knew she must depart;
She lived a simple life through sheer God’s will;

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Peter 1 (Chapter 2)
So, rid yourselves of malice, guile,
Hypocrisy, slander, envy;
Like newborns crave for spiritual milk,
That’s pure and grow in salvation,
Now that, you’ve tasted, Lord is good!
The Living Stone and a Chosen People:
As you embrace the living Stone that’s Him-
Men-rejected, God-chosen and precious,
You too are being made a house,
Of holy priesthood, spiritual,
To offer sacrifices liked by God,
The Father, through His Son, Jesus,
For, Scripture says,
To those who do believe:
‘Behold, I lay a stone in Zion, then,
A chosen and most-precious cornerstone,
And whoev’r trusts in Him,

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Matthew (Chapter 17)
Then Jesus took Peter, James, John,
And led them up a high mountain;
He was transfigured before them,
His face illumined like the sun;
His clothes became white like bright light!
Behold, then Moses, Elijah,
Appeared to converse with Jesus.
Then Peter told Jesus up there:
‘’Tis good that we are here, O Lord.
If you so wish, we’ll make tents three,
One for Moses, Elijah, you! ’
While Peter was still speaking thus,
A bright cloud cast its shadow there;
A voice from within cloud then said,
‘This is my Son, beloved one,
In whom, I’m pleased, listen to Him! ’
The disciples fell prostrate then,

Gone to be with Jesus Lord in Heaven
He tried to kill himself before a train!
But God would not allow him to do that;
His uncle gave him timely good advice,
And introduced him to Lord, Jesus Christ.
The twenty-year-old man turned new a leaf;
From hopelessness and poverty, he fled;
God afilled him with hope anew instead;
A divine peace now overwhelmed his heart.
He took refuge in Savior, Jesus Christ;
He labored hard in Bank wherein employed;
He rose in status rapidly in life;
But God had other better plans for him.
He recognized the love of Jesus Christ;
The love of God had swathed him forever;
He desired to start a ministry;
He wanted it to be named, ‘Jesus Calls.’
