From the Banks of Ganga: IV
I sit by your banks
In awe of your flow
A parallel flow within
Watches every ripple:
Indefinable happiness
Peace is absence of
Even a ripple of thought
What follows peace is bliss
I suppose…
Loitering and searching
The best place to meet
The loved one is by
One's own banks of the heart
Where flows Gangs of love
The flow overwhelms me
Doesn't allow me stretch my hand
For the other…
I'm unto myself!

At 25k Feet Above
on a bed of clouds
feet dangling into the sea
you and me
above the clouds
the horizon beckoned us
we glided in the air
bits and pieces
clouds dispersed below the sky
new horizon teased
in a wink
the clouds spread as one grey spread
we melted as rain
vapour they turned
the heat within melted
we rocked

Dolce Far Niente, A Sequel
remember our fog walk
of a winter morning...?
our hands closely clasped
spreading warmth into each other
we took each step together
into a zero visibility ahead
whenever a sudden wind
blew on our winter-bitten cheeks
didn't the clasp tighten?
how our fingers released
stars shining brighter
than those up above!
we took each step
with those stars guiding us...
* for karin anderson...thnq so much for suggesting a sequel. i lived each word that went into this...

From the Banks of Ganga: I
Ganga,
What glaciers have
Melted in silence?
Ganga,
How many mighty glaciers
Now flow with a roar?
Ganga,
From the divine tresses
Through the sage’s ears
Carefully led for redemption
Trapped
Restive
ViolentFrom the mighty skies
Down the abode of gods
Humbled!
Ganga,

A Love Poem
in that lonesome longing
in the solitude of longing
i recall the way we nestled
into each other on that night
when the sea sprayed
perfumed moonlight
encased in a dropp of silver...
limb to limb
lip to lip
seeped in a silver sea
we moved in cyclic rhythms
on the undulating waves
of passion the skin ignited
in each other at every touch
the surrounding darkness
shone bright in fluid mercurial
brightness adding shimmer
to the heaving bodies

Kiss
i try lifting his head
he would simply resist
pulling my dupatta fringe
i would move my leg
he would hold on to my bossom
never allowing me to stir
i palyfully kissed the back of his palm
he broke into a divine smile

Untitled: III
...and then you came
with no paraphernalia
as unobtrusively as you alone can
and led me home away from home
clasping my left hand
with your right and drawing it
close to your heart
as if nothing can allow it to slip...
i assumed a young and foolish persona
on the dark rickety road we traveled by
in that child-like glee
walking me into moonlight,
you showed me my home
the clock stopped
the distant sea stood as witness
as i sealed my heart
with words of love
you scribbled...

Here Again...!
in this evolving emptiness
that's gaurded by the galaxies
sleep slips into regular folds
of this body and settles
in its intriguing contours
and the day too wakes up into
blinding emptiness
all more out of habit
i deliberately create nothingness
to negate this embryonic
meaninglessness that smarts
through the routine eyeballs
in sleep as well wakefulness
do you hear the rattling of bones
in the empty sack that gets moved
about by the everyday business of life?

Cutting Through A Fog
in my desperation to catch a dream
i assumed wings to catch that
eluding dream...
everywhere my vision is blurred by
the cruel winter fog...
there were times
when winter was
simply different
the chill breeze blowing
would kindle craving
for warmth and the languid
nerves awaiting...
it's an agonizing search
my wings badly bruised
the pain seemed immaterial
the point is how many times
i missed my self in these futile
attempts of cutting through a fog
that never seems to dissolve...

Few Two Liners
I’ve known reception
I’ve seen rejection
I’ve known how life gets reduced to a memory
I’ve seen how memory fades
I’ve seen how life takes off
I’ve known how life slumps
I’ve seen how one clings to life
I’ve known how life passes
I’ve known how knotty time is
I’ve seen comfort time brings
I've seen how life flows
I've known how it floods
I've seen clear light
I've known hazy veils in the way
