Sonny I Guess I'm Crazy

Dad why do people go crazy?
Well son what do you mean?
They do commit odd acts of such
Slaughter thievery and perjury

Well son what do you think they need
Someone to talk to like a therapist
Son now now they could also use other sorts
Think of art poetry painting crying

You see people do crazy things
So much hypocrisy as poets we try to change that
The son tries to speak but the dad keeps going
DAD! I'm only in 1st grade remember

Plus dad that doesn't seem like enough
Oh boy you got a lot to learn
Did Edgar Allan Poe need therapy boy?
Didn't he die a alcoholic dad?

Once Upon a Time On Pacific Coast and Sante Fe

There is this street located in Long Beach
Lot of ma and pa stores one would say
There is El Sol bakery in front of the Police Station
Liquor store with the goods we get around
The local Admiral Kidd park is the chillest spot

Chi-mole and all sorts of fun
Soccer to play pens and such
Neighborhood I hear has had it rough
Yet everyone is getting along well
For a outsider like myself

I realized how much I miss it at times
Cabrillo High School surrounds most of these
Do not forget the local Long Beach Job Corps
All in all the place that started the crop
Lot of good people around just not enough love

Many places just like these could receive
A little more help on the way I believe

Ode to a Meal of Life

I took in all I could
Flavors of what life offered
Taste that could turn your tongue around
Dissatisfying sensations like explosions
Starting each reaction around 7 in the morning
Ending every night randomly with dinner
Digesting as if I were reborn in my sleep

Dreams influenced by the senses felt before rest
Today I flew tomorrow I blew up
Into a million pieces of glass
Reflecting the fates I have devoured
Meals become endless hopes to try something new
Eventually my taste buds begin to expire

Dying and lying on the dry tongue
Saliva surfacing to fight past fleeting times
Oh how the good times pass by so quickly
The great moments forgotten so easily
Oh how the sad times bring us misery
