Psalm 124

I am surrounded by troubled waters
They have come to flood my soul
And the open wounds upon my back
Begin to take a heavy toll

My enemies rise up against me
They continuously assault my soul
They are relentless in their comings
And they would gladly swallow me whole

Yet in the midst of all the chaos
My heart it hears a heavenly sound
The sounds of angels wings descending
To take me up to higher ground

The Lord He comes from heaven above
He comes to rescue me
He carries me with wings of love
Above the dark and stormy sea

Psalm 73

The wicked seem to be at rest
They are clothed in violence and pride
Yet desolation and terror awaits
When death surrounds their every side

O Lord forgive my foolish heart
For ever doubting you
O let us never be apart
My heart knows you are ever true

Who have I in heaven but you
You are the reason that I awake
There is nothing in this world I desire
I only live for your sake

My heart and my flesh they fail
And without you I can do nothing, no never
I shall trust and draw near to you
You are my strength and portion forever

Psalm 88

I am engulfed in troubled waters
I am drowning in my tears
I cry out to you night and day
Deliver me Lord from all my fears

I am surrounded by deep darkness
And troubles fill my soul
I am adrift among the dead
And the blackness has swallowed me whole

My friends are gone, I'm all alone
I am laid down in the lowest pit
I have no strength I cannot stand
Upon shards of pottery I now sit

I cannot praise you from the grave
Do you work wonders for the dead?
It was for me you came to save
It was for me you died and bled

Psalm 79

How long O Lord shall we wait
And cry out to the heavens above
That the world may know your glory
And see a demonstration of your love

Why should the nations say
We shall do whatever we please
Open their eyes that they may see
The glory, and fall to their knees

Let the wicked's mouth be hushed
And the scornful cease their ways
Let your children praise your name
And honor you all of their days

So we thank you and praise you O Jesus
In the midst of a wicked generation
We will lift your name on high
And look to the day of celebration

Before You Wear The Crown

Before the crown we're called to wear
There is a cross that we must bear
Before He struggled up the Hill
He had to choose His Father's will

Before the victory was won
He had to say ' Thy will be done.'
And on the cross He did atone
But not before He prayed alone

If we desire to climb that hill
We must desire to do His will
For victory will not be won
Until we say ' Thy will be done.'

So if you will take up your cross
It'd serve you well to count the cost
For before He died to set you free
He died alone at Gethsemane

Psalm 47

Clap your hands all ye people
Shout unto God with all your might
For the Lord is high and lifted up
And He is glorious in our sight

The people lift their voice and sing
All glory to the risen King
Upon HIs throne He rules and reigns
Bestowing grace and breaking chains

God reigns over all the nations
And by HIs blood He brings salvation
Subduing death and crushing sin
And healing wounds from deep within

And one day every knee shall bow
To God above and Him alone
And every eye shall see our King
In His glory on HIs throne

Psalm 11

If the foundations be destroyed
What can the righteous do
For broad is the road that leads to hell
And the narrow road finds the few

And the enemy says to my soul
Fly like a bird in the night
For look, the wicked bend their bow
Now its time for you to take flight

But I shall stand upon the Lord
In Him I shall put my trust
For His eyes are on the sons of men
For all shall return to dust

Fire and brimestone and a burning wind
Shall be their portion, their lot
But the child of God shall stand that day
For by His blood they were bought

Psalm 60

O Lord have you abandoned me?
I have lost my song tonight
My enemies are all around me
It seems that I have lost the fight

Restore me Lord to where I was
To walk in radiant fields of green
In amber meadows, golden valley's
To places that I've never been

Now even though I seem defeated
I've heard you speak in holiness
I've walked in beauty and in sunshine
And in your presence I've been blessed

You are my God my strong high tower
In you alone I put my trust
My song's restored and victory follows
My enemies fall to the dust

Psalm 97

The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice
Let all the people make a joyful noise
Let every heart that longs, desire
To be consumed by His holy fire

Let this fire go before Him
And devour all His enemies
Mountains melt like wax
His children fall down on their knees

At the presence of the Lord
The whole world shakes to and fro
And the heavens declare His righteousness
And His Spirit shows the way to go

You are exalted O God above the heavens
And every eye will see your glory
And every knee shall bow to thee
And every tongue declare you holy

Psalm 93

Troubled waters, rising tide
Shall not cause me to run and hide
I stand upon the Rock of old
In you I stand, I shall be bold

The floods have lifted up their voice
They cry aloud and make their noise
Yet you are higher than the tide
And in your presence I reside

You are clothed in majesty
And you set the captives free
To dwell with you and walk in peace
Serenity found in sweet release

And though the waves and billows rise
And lightening fractures the darkening skies
We shall not be moved, we rest in thee
For thou are greater than the sea
