The Shadow
I had a dream one night
In which i walked through a meadow
The sun was blazing an intense heat
My heart was pounding
When I noticed a shadow
Hanging its head in defeat
It copied my motions
And stopped when I stopped
And ran when I started to run

Autumn is a slow

The hopelessness that weighs heavy-
On the soul
Tears that fall from sunken eyes
Bearing witness to the hunger and disease
To the pain and the death
Of both the young and the old
Frail, fragile arms

Where a true blessing would be
Clean water to quench their thirst
Where too many are suffering
And too few are willing
