Traces of My Footsteps
My youth is what I no longer possess
On this body, some genes didn’t exist
Though he left me now with this wrinkled skin
It’s his young shadow that shines within
Like a timid star afar from the moonlight spot
Wherein their distance is the aisle of my childhood:
For I grow up not knowing how
Sweet to have a mother dear
A rugged toy to hold and cherish
Or a best friend who truly cares
Sweat and tears, pain and sorrow
I struggled for who I’d become
I build my dreams, my family, my goal
Still my destiny is unknown
Now, as I get closer and closer to the abbreviations of life
My fear of aging or dying is my worst enemy
Traces of my footsteps along the brink of my boyhood

One Petal Of Rose
I gazed upon the sky, YOU and I
Once a young lover, that I was, love didn't die
THE SECRET LEAVES OF MY NOTEBOOK holds
A love letter, it now unfolds
ONE PETAL OF ROSE
Keeping all of its lies
From a teenage game once played:
'She loves me, she loves me not'
She, MY INVISBLE FRIEND,
Has the blood of my mother's tree
That voids the query: IS IT JUST a FRIEND?
Since the days of THE GOMEZ's OF 1970
So, what more do a thief in disguise proves
Back then when love was excessive fantasy
But one petal of rose should remain to stay
In the secret leaves of my notebook, or it roves

Niambo
You're a wind that passed by
Gentle to the skin; playful to the hair
Touch a shoulder; dry a tear
Ease a sorrow then you fly
You're a calm river carrying a dream
From stream to distant mountain, all seem
Palpable to reach; inspirable to attain
You're a song, a music no one dislikes
The lyrics and tunes regardless of voice
You're played, sung, or even hummed,
You're anything for anybody's aspiration
A place of one's wish, in a desert or plain
You're the sky where all my longings lie
You're a shadow of truth and fiction
An art of illusionist's abstraction
Now judged by many interpretations

Brotherly Love
I was ten sitting fearlessly on a top tube
As my brother pedaled his bike on a dirt road
Faster than the meanest dog of neighborhood
Chasing us away on the loop
You see how brotherly love does
When he plays doctor to a wound
Chewing guava leaves to patch
A skin to stop from bleeding
And to think one is better than him
To do such Math, you figure this out
A brother who took your four pennies
For a candy that costs you a nickel
This time, I'm sitting on his bedside
With fear that I will lose my brother
Six decades, four years, but no math
Can ever add life but one God

Under the Midnight Moon
In the still of the night, by the promise of the moonlight
Whispers of the wind, all I could hear are memories
Scattered stars hold my thoughts like silhouettes
Flashing on the clouds, the torn pages of my youth
For awhile, a cloud crept across the face of the moon
As dark as my old character, a stubborn child, I recalled
Now, my son is my mirror and I can feel inside of me
Those I took for granted he’s now feeding back to me
I must weld your dreams and restore your strength
With my bare hands to suffer for I am to be blamed
As long as there’s tomorrow for what I less-treasured
This wind that whispered by is another lesson I heard
So, again I clasp my hands to prolong this life I borrowed
Direct me right so I can pay him greater than what I owed

In Solitude
I watch the sun drifting away,
Like a friend bidding goodbye,
On a chair where grandpa used to sit
That’s as old as his legs then to rock.
Then I waited for the moon to peek
Through the woods along the creek,
But the night went quickly deep
That sends me back to sleep.
As clear as the sun’s daylight,
I saw my youth in alluring sight,
My arms were my wings to soar
In mountains and seas, I explored.
But in the sphere of total darkness,
On a beehive-like the bully hides
That smiles akin to a toothless monster,
There! I fought like my father’s rooster.
Now, thinking back in time
The world when all was mine,
Under the tree where I used to play,
Or grandma weaving a basket tray,

Desire
Come lie down by the aisle of this mind
As its eyes etched the hint of one thing
For sure, you are false, I am resigned
In this journey of wishful thinking
Under the trickeries of the sky
The peeping moon may console us shy
Through the cracks of the weeping willow
It tails its light ‘till the night is through
Here, on this cushion of bermuda
Spread grassy deeper in the dark
With lust of these hands favor a dream
And the echo of a moan is a scream
Of one stolen dream you will find us
Conquering threesome foothold in us
Where in the shade of a perfect time
A wishful grope maybe it's your charm

History, Science, and Math in Geography
Please let your brevity light open wide
And help those ten fingers do his math
He's a digit off to divide
The light of his way
Into a room full of dreams
Who he should become?
The man who raised him
The man who was his doctor
His teacher, his father
You see! When you lived far from the city
Science did not explain the flow of light
To a child... once upon a time
Imagination
Of a mother he didn't have
He hears who he lost

Faith: One Reason We Believe
Faith is the most powerful imagination
A mind could reach, as we ponder result
To grab of what we can or try to move on
So we can challenge those that are difficult
Never leave the unfinished from failure
For such failure dismays intentions
For such intention unfolds one to mature
Like an opening of day's revelations
That faith is also one reason we believe
A soundful mind can illustrate
To a child who's willing to learn, to give
Or share of what they can demonstrate
For what is bested upon test after test
We are the river of flowing of minds
Like streams with many directions attest
By faith in which current we fall in

A Dream Is Still a Dream Until It Becomes Real
Call me weird to dream the impossible
When some phobias are in the stream of my blood
To live in the rainforest yet I'm hypochondriac
To walk on the terrain of trees in to the deep woods
When in fact I have ophidiophobia
Call me insane to reach the unreachable
Countries of my dream when I know I hate to fly
To see the distant world it has offered
London, Rome, or Tokyo - you name it
But the truth is: it's about my batophobia
It is such a fool of me to wish I could cross
Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific by a cruise
The Caribbean is too much to aspire
A step into the sand to tickle my feet
If I could only break my thalassophobia
But I doubt with all the phobias
A man like me has chrometophobia
