Efren Petalver Carranza

Seduced

Cheerios with bursting cinnamon dust,
Over sliced banana in a bowl of soy milk,
Breakfast is served.

Succulent sautéed shrimp over angel hair,
With melting mozzarella in a white plate,
Lunch is served.

Romaine spinach dressed with vinegarette,
Cherry tomatoes, raisins, pineapple cubes,
Dinner is served.

Then she sensed creamy caramel macchiato,
That’s calling for her not too far from home,
Starbucks is there.

Amaretto Cheesecake with Madeliene Crust,
Staring at her in an eyeful blast of seduction,
She checked in.

Re-phrased Memory

God…….

Take me back to the day I was whole,
And set the clock where it started all.

Give me back my ears I didn’t use,
And my mind that made me confused.

My sight to see what will happen then,
My limbs and my feet to walk again,

Give me my hands to hold my future,
My arms to embrace life is worth for

Restore my strength to be a wiser man,
To choose the right way where all I can,

Give me back all what I have lost
My faith which I’ve forgotten most

My Poetry

It began from a simple word,
Of what the moon had seemingly spoken,
Or a bird’s song I once heard,
Or whispers of the wind of same token;

Then there were colors of the rainbow,
Sketched briefly below the sky blue,
And the clouds’ reflection to the sea,
Spread all their words in my poetry;

The sound of the roaring river,
The melting snow after winter,
The wind breeze in summer,
You hear them in my poetry,

But without the presence of spring,
Flowers blooming every morning,
If no trees, no mountains seen,
In my poetry, you’ll read nothing.

Oh! My Brother

You conquered my heart
Like a song in my head
It keeps repeating
Of what is missing

On that empty chair
Where you used to sit
Is full of memories
To treasure the best

The absence of my mother
To the distance of my father
You brought me love
During my thirst

But now you're gone
In heaven, you rest
In peace, I shall keep
The love you last uttered

MY Words of Wisdom

Smile and you meet no enemy; they just wonder and walk away.

Secrecy is bait to suspicion but limit yourself of being too open.

Past cannot be undone as its words and actions could only be repeated: the good ones to be remembered and the ugly ones should be eliminated; these are reasons why there is future and present.

Every second past by our decisions, statements, and judgments,
there is always the “IF” in the core of our regressions.

The past is a part of our lives that we indulged to happen, which we cannot change but to live with it as example for the youth

Signs and Tribulations

Beaneath the sky are puzzles of clouds:
pieces of dreams, reflections of life,
vicious problems the world has.

From tiny creatures to gigantic trees,
Oceans to mountains, she watches;
She cries but only little we know,
Her anger is louder than a dropp of snow:

So, 'you want more rain? ' A THUNDER roared!
with a flash of LIGHTNING, a FIRE soared!
while the monstrous river awaits its FLOOD,
TORNADO whirled and HURICANE came.

VOLCANOES 'replied, ' but an EARTHQUAKE 'shook! '
'BEHOLD THE SUN WHEN IT NO LONGER SHINES,
and on this day, it's God's turn to ask you, 'WHY? ''

Voyage of the Mind

Imagination is the infinite place
The soul is the vehicle of a dream
The mind is the engine of the soul

Doomed at the rotunda of darkness
The wicked flesh longed to retire
For its greed of satisfaction
The mind ignited to its journey

Dream came along to its grandeur
Engrossed by the replica of wishes
Adjourned by the muster of the soul
So the voyage of the mind continues

Its destination is beyond imagination
That only soul and dream can capture
But when awakened by a nightmare
The soul returns to the flesh
With the breaking in of a day dream
The voyage of the mind still remains

My Invisible Friend

All I could remember about you
Is your angelic face [now that I’m old]
Dear! You might be… still the same
As always when we were teens

‘Cause I only hear your voice
As kind as your words to read
Maybe one day you appear
Before… my very own eyes
And before… I’ll lose this mind

Oh! Those priceless advices
Love is in your trait
Every time you care
God is in your heart
And no one could take this place
Right in my heart, my friend
In all spaces and places
Over and over, again and again
I can still feel your strength

The Rose

Red-blood begun to burst
As the dawning sun scream in silent hue
Fallen dew misted a little lust
All of her cue

Time is no compare from yesterday
When everything was nothing to see
Than a blessed day this morning
Caught me his eyes adoring

A humble bee must have lost his flight
Tremulously hides from my sight
On one petal to unfold
And soon the rose will be bold

To cast a word of the heart
This cutter will set them apart
And the meanness of me has one cause
Yet, for another day to browse

In An Awe of A Brilliant Morning

Under the tropic of laden sky
It casts a brilliant morning
With tassels of raindrops
Dancing with the wind

On a soulful song of a voiceless mind
Came from a jaded night to a rainbow
On her reflection
Through the window

Trickles of rain tussling right… down
From her eyes, and yet too humble
For yesterday, it came for a reason
In rouse of a morose heart to smile

With the sun, as it rises high
In an awe of brilliant morning
Like diamonds…bright

On her reflection
