Good morning mister sunshine.
Glad you came my way.
Guess I'm gonna make it
through another day.

Goo night mister moonlight.
Send me off to sleep.
Hope to make it through the night.
Don't let me dream too deep
so I can't see the sun.

Never-ending Search

Those who've never found heaven
right where they are
will probably never find it
in that place beyond a star.

Those who've found that heaven
is right inside their mind
will take it when they leave this life
and never leave it behind.

A Rose For Me

Oh little worm
stay away from my rose.
Find somewhere else
to bring your woes.
My rose has petals
not made for you.
My rose grows beautifully
for me to view.
My rose wants to live
to bring me joy,
never for a worm
to come and destroy.

Loss of Love

Who can break the bond of love
and cast it out to sea?
None whose hearts are tender
and beat with melody.

For adrift on the waters of the deep
are the loves that lost their way.
Seasick from emotional loss
on day after day after day.

Echo of Your Voice

I hear the echo of your voice.
It stills me in the night.
And the timbre of it stays with me
longer than your sight.
It repeats the words you once said
and bounces off the wall.
And word for word I marvel
that I still remember them all.

Predicament

God -awful prices are in the store.
Hardly recognize them anymore.
Yet, people are buyin'.
Puttin' charges on a card
is gettin' mighty hard.
Don't think about the future
Must eat today.
When the future gets here
there'll be hell to pay.

If I should never meet you
even though you pass my way
all the things we might have shared
will never come into play.

So you go your way. I go mine
and both of us take flight.
And we become like two ships

Walls

Do walls have ears?
Can they hear what is said?
And if they hear what people say
do they wish their ears away?

Do walls have eyes?
Can they see what people do?
And if they see what people have done
do they wish their eyes could run?

Maple Leaves

All the leaves on the maple trees
are fiery red in the fall.
To see one in fall's glory
before the wintry call
is to witness nature's beauty
before the leaves fly away.
Then our eyes much adjust to barky limbs
for the fiery red can't stay.

Don't

Don't eat sugar. It's too sweet.
Don't use salt on the meat you eat.
Don't drink caffeine. It will keep you awake.
Don't have 2nd helpings. You'll get a stomach ache.

All the don'ts that are up above
stop us from eating everything we love.
