If By Some Strange Chance You Were A Spider (Spenserian Sonnet)

If by some strange chance you were a spider
And I too by chance were a little bee
If destiny were not cruel as she were
Maybe you and I could finally be
Then everyone would be able to see
Our feelings that we have kept in the dark
I wonder if they would ever agree
That our loving words always hit their mark
Or could we sit on a bench in a park
Reminiscing about the times we've had
What if we run off and go on a lark
Would such a thing really be all that bad
Would it be an unforgivable sin
If destiny let you pick up my pen

Maybe...It

I think that it’s
For the best
That we
Have finally moved on
I guess that I
Was selfish
In wanting you
All for my self
Maybe
It was not you
That I had fallen in love with
Maybe
It was just your poetry
It
Was probably all in my mind
It
Was just my stinking thinking
Believing
That you loved me
As much

This Is For My Wife On Our Special Day (Italian Sonnet)

This is for my wife on our special day
It's been twenty years since we first met
I wasn't sure if it was a good bet
I didn't know if things would be okay
Now it's our anniversary I say
Little did I know I'd end up in debt
That happens when you buy all you can get
Sooner or later you will have to pay
Living alone can lead to depression
Lonesomeness is so hard for one to bear
At times I feel like pulling out my hair
I'll confess that its symptoms are no fun
I surround myself with people who care
It is so lonely being number one

We Always Knew (Free Verse)

We Always Knew (Free Verse)

You know what I was like
Before I started taking meds
I’d fly off the handle
And wish everyone was dead
But I had a fire
I do not have now
I could spit out a poem
Though I did not know how
We always knew
We had each others hearts
But we’d pull out our knives
Just to cut them apart
At times I wish
I still felt that anger
Although I know
At times I was a danger
So maybe its best
That I keep taking my pills

Who Believes Strongly In Fate (Quatrain)

Who Believes Strongly In Fate (Quatrain)

I hate you with a passion
I will never fall in love
Have we ever met before
Why do you fit like a glove

You should just get out of here
And leave me here all alone
When you are here I can't breath
Over the years you have grown

I don't think you are my type
I'm really not into guys
But if you were a woman
I would love to hear your sighs

I don't want to break your heart
You just might be my soul mate
Are you that kind of person

What Will You Be Like When You're Eighty-Two (Shakespearean Sonnet)

What will you be like when you're eighty-two
Will I be alive or six feet under
Will you still believe that our love is true
And what if our love were torn asunder
Would we be able to bear such a thing
I do not feel I could live without you
I believe I would rather feel death's sting
My love do you feel the same as I do
And what if our love were to have faded
For destiny has been known to be cruel
And many a love has become jaded
Oh why do I feel like I am a fool
You may not remember me at that age
Just like in a book you'll have turned the page

Drinking Whisky From A Cup

Love is such a mystical thing
You never know what it may bring
It may bring happiness
Or it may bring despair
You will never be certain
Unless you do and dare

Let down your guard and open your heart
This is always a good place to start
Because you'll never know love
If you never open up
You may go your entire life
Drinking whisky from a cup

So ultimately it is up to you
No matter what you will decide to do
It's your choice to give love a chance
If you don't you may never feel
How powerful love may truly be
It's the one thing in life that's real

Every Time I Think Of You

Every Time I Think Of You

Every time I think of you
My heart begins to ache
Who knows how much more of this
My broken heart can take

I think of you both night and day
You are even in my dreams
And at times my heart does wonder
Do you even hear my screams

I have always been told that love is
The most beautiful thing in life
Will I ever have enough courage
To ask you will you be my wife

So I thought I would write you this poem
To let you know my life is a mess
Just to ask you if you will marry me

You Were In Your Twenties When We First Met

You were in your twenties when we first met
I never knew you'd want to be my pet
Not really a pet more of a lover
Although we’ve not gone under the covers

Maybe it’s for the best that we have not
That might just spoil the friendship that we share
Sometimes I feel that its all that I’ve got
And I will always know that you do care

Maybe one day when we are old and grey
We just may reflect on our poetry
Oh how I think I would laugh on that day
Sometimes I wonder if you would agree

That would depend on if we are still friends
There are a few things on which that depends

I Pulled Out My Shovel (Quatrain)

I Pulled Out My Shovel (Quatrain)

I pulled out my shovel
And dug a little hole
I dug even deeper
Trying to kill a mole

The digging was easy
The hole grew more and more
Then I thought to myself
I should have used my bore

I dug into the den
But the mole wasn't there
It was almost as if
It vanished in mid air

Then I saw a tunnel
It veered off to the right
So I thought to myself
