Hidden in Silence
Sometimes we hide our pain
even from those we love.
We are too proud
to acknowledge the pain we’re in
fearing if our loved ones knew
it would worry them so.
We hide them in silence
no matter how much they hurt
never letting anyone know
of the pain that aches our heart.

Welcome Home
Welcome home,
back to the bosom of the family.
After any journey,
it is always nice to see
smiling faces there to greet you
when you open up the door.
The door that has remained closed
for a length of time
while you were away.
Welcome home
and we hope your here to stay.

Wheel of Fortune
We spin the wheel of fortune,
never knowing where it might stop,
or how our live will feel its effect.
Whether it be love, money or luck.
We leave fate to guide us
to wherever that might be.
We can only hope that lady luck
will stand beside us,
as we play the game of chance.

Skipping Stones Across The Water
You go to a beach
and one of the first things you do
is grab a few stones,
skip them across the water
to see how many times they skip
and how far they go.
I don’t know if this is a man’s thing,
or if females do it to.
Therefore, my female friends out there
you’ll have to let me know.

Clouds Of Anger
When the clouds of anger
descend upon our mind
things are said in haste
which can hurt deeper
that the thrust of any sword
and will haunt us forever.
No amount of sorry
will ever take them back,
they will just live there
among our memories to haunt us
when things start bothering us again.

A Short Scream
Have you ever woken in the night
with a white figure approaching you?
You give out a short scream
thinking you’ve seen a ghost
and your neighbours think
you are having a loud orgasm,
but everything is all right.
It is only your partner returning to bed
after their nightly visit to the loo.

We Wonder
Today the sun shone,
the first time in many a day.
For weeks on end,
uncertainty has crossed the sky.
We have been tormented
by rain, floodwaters and swollen rivers.
We look out and wonder with anxious eyes.
We wonder if tomorrow
will bring another bright day,
just to brighten up our lives.

Love Is A Funny Thing
For two lovebirds, I met a Stratford on Avon
With the first initials D & T
They know who they are.
Love is a funny thing,
one minute you are up,
then the next you are down.
Then your head is spinning around,
your seeing stars,
dancing on the moon.
Love is a funny thing,
and that is for sure.

Music Of Love 2
The music of love
is everywhere
as spring rears its head.
Flowers start to bud;
birds in the trees
start to sing their mating call.
The world wakens every morn
to the music of love
as it sings it through the trees
inviting everything to join in
and sing its chorus strong.

Muted
I spend most waking day
with a muted voice
listening to others chatter.
My world is a silent refrain
ignored by all around me.
I watch and I listen
but no sound do I utter.
I walk as invisible
to all that surround me
and only the empty walls
know how my world feels
in my shell of silence.
