How many times do
we get coupons offering you
to buy one and get one free
come through our door.
Everyone is doing it,
the butcher, the baker
and the candlestick maker.
The motive behind it
is to entice you in.
Once they have you in,
they hope that you will buy more.

Shades of Twilight
As shades of Twilight
close the day, here in my heart
you come to stay.
Entering with unconditional love,
at the closing of each day,
and never straying very far away.
Who could ask anyone for more?
I think not is what I say,
as shades of twilight
close each coming day.

From The Guise Of Many
From the guise of many,
we fall into the guise of one
creating within it
our own mystery.
Within the guise of many,
we still try to hide our all.
We pretend to be the one,
but in fact,
we are always the many.
Our name remains
always the same
with just a touch of mystery.

War
Across a scorched and crimson earth,
tattered battle flags fly.
Men and boys in tangled shaped,
lay where they fell to die.
They tell the tale no one wants to know,
that battles are just a waste,
that never go into battle in haste.
The consequence is laid to rest,
in bones bleached bare.

A Coming Storm
I see the meandering clouds
gathering along the horizon
as if in a warning
of a coming storm.
Their brooding presence
should be marked as an alarm
as they are the mark
of some black moments
ready to enter our lives.
To take no heed
could lend to great sorrow
and loss of peace of mind.

A Gathering
Watching the birds gather
in the sky before they roost.
They gather in great numbers
for their final arial display
near the closing of the day.
They swirl around in large circles
gathering more and more
as they fly calling to one another
before they settle for the day.

Misty Morning
In the misty morning
before the sun begins to rise
the world seems at peace with itself
right before our eyes.
No raised voices
to spoil our waking day,
just a sheltered silence
and the world seems
a million miles away.
In the misty morning
before the sun begins to rise.

A Mystery Tour
I went to see a friend
who lives about fifty miles away.
My sense of direction being what it is,
I took a wrong turn
and went on a mystery tour.
I found some interesting places
as I was trying to find my way.
The problem is will I remember them
the next time I pass this way.

Tomorrow Will Be Better
Some days we are filled with happiness,
some days we are filled with gloom.
Some times we are filled with optimism
that illuminates every room.
Our moods change so quickly
just like the weather,
yet here we are filled with whatever
always hoping tomorrow will be better.

Stay With Me Tonight
The candle is burning low;
you say that it is time for you to go.
My eyes and heart plead,
stay with me tonight,
and let us share the early morning light
together as one.
Stay with me tonight;
let our love and passion flow,
no one will ever know.
Just stay with me tonight.
