Sound Of Silence
I sat within the sound of silence
remembering an old friend
who had passed over five years ago.
A breeze ruffled the trees
sending the blossom like snowflakes
to scatter on the ground.
The face of my old friend
drew images in my head
as I sat in the sound of silence.

A Special Place
Friends can feel like family
even though they live far away.
They inhabit a special place
in your life and your heart.
They are more accessible
than real family at times
these friends that feel like family
and inherit a special place
in your life and in your heart.

Calm Waters
We set out on life’s ocean
filled with turbulent waves,
often looking for calmer waters
in which to stay and bathe.
We seek to find happiness
all of us want to find.
Some times, we find a friend,
who will take us by the hand,
leading us to those calm waters
we were looking for.

A Sunday Prayer 01
Dear Lord as we walk
the different paths we have taken.
Help us to speak the truth,
and help us use words,
to console the injured,
bring hope to those in despair,
but most of all, help us with your words of faith
to guide others to see
the wisdom in your light.

To Fly Again On Angel Wings
I hear violins playing
loves old sweet refrain.
I hear you calling out my name.
Life seems to be flown on angel wings
especially when old love calls for a fling.
The music in the background
remonstrates loves rhapsody,
and we are captured
to fly again on angel wings.

When I Was Young
Yesterday when I was young,
the world was not complicated.
No worries hovered above my head
only a sky of blue and the sun.
What a change it is now
as the older I get.
Problems seem to surface
from everything I touch
and I hark for again
yesterday when I was young.

Ticks Our Time Away
The clock on the wall
ticks our time away.
Second by second,
minute by minute
each and everyday.
We cannot stop
the march of time.
However, it would be nice
to stop it in its tracks
so we could amend
a few things that we do.
Then after we do it,
we could let time carry on its way.

That Most Treasured Prize
Sometimes you look,
but never see the love
of someone special
when it is right in front of thee.
You look with blind eyes,
ignoring your heart
when it tells you what is best.
However, love has a way
of making you open your eyes,
and one day you will wake
to that most treasured prize.

Loneliest Conversations
The loneliest conversations
are the ones we have
to ourselves when no one is there.
The empty space does not answer
with an argument or a kind voice.
All we hear is our own whispers,
which only our ears hear.
Even our yells are muted,
as they look for someone else
who cannot be found.

We Want
When love comes to us,
we want it to be the perfect one
so it will shine as an example to everyone.
We want it to shine bright
like the stars in the night sky.
Showing everyone
how wonderful love can be.
We want our love to last forever
never having its light burn out.
