What Is Love
What is love
Is it just a word
Something someone’s heard
What is the meaning
Is it large or small
Or doesn’t anyone know
How to describe it at all
What is love
Is it a gentle kiss
A tender embrace
Or is it someone
You could never replace
What is love

Early Works-A Brook
Near fields, a mellow shade of green
and trees where lovers lean
there runs a brook
like something that is visualised in a book.
Pebbles algae green and round
are not disturbed by a sound,
where fish swim and glide
the way no author could describe.

Fate
Sometimes fate gives us a hand to play.
It might not be the hand
we were looking for,
but we play it just the same
and it can lead us to places
we never dreamed of.
Fate has a habit
through unconnected things
of putting us on a road
where we should have been.

A Dilemma
Sometimes we see someone
whom we believe
that our paths have crossed before.
However, time has blocked
the when and the where.
Their name escapes us too
and a dilemma arises
do we ask or don't we.
Is it just a case of
what we cannot remember
best stays forgotten in time?

Rejuvenating Our Mind
We close our eyes
and into sleep fall
rejuvenating our mind
so filled with abstract thoughts,
storing away what we want
in the store of our memories,
casting aside the unwelcome bits
and burying deep others
before we awake afresh
to start all over again.

A Surprise
Giving someone a surprise
is bringing joy into their lives.
It is always with anticipation
when you give it to them
whether or not they will like it,
but with some they are overjoyed,
and it really makes their day
especially if that surprise
comes from far away.

My Dreams
My dreams sail through uncharted waters
looking for a place to land.
A place to become fertile
so I can touch them with my hand.
My dreams are filled with imagery
of what I want my life to be.
If I could only lead them home
my life would be what I want it to be.

Hurt, Sadness, Laughter And Sunshine
Upon each life at times
a little rain must fall,
a little hurt and sadness
from time to time will call.
Between them are times
when happiness reins supreme.
When each day is filled
with laughter and sunshine.
This so the balance of life
does not become benign.

In Our Daydreams
In our daydreams, we wander
to places of our hearts desire,
green garnished fields stretching
out as far as the eyes can see.
Winding paths with shady trees,
soft flowing streams where the may flies play.
To natures touches of beauty
that in our daydreams lay.

The Temple
The temple stands in ruins,
neglected and overgrown,
ravaged by time.
Once it stood proud
and lovers gathered there,
but now it stands crumpled beyond repair
that love ceases to go there anymore
as it slowly disappears into the dust
from which it was born.
