A Reason to Believe

Everyone needs a reason to believe.
To believe in God,
their family and friends,
their wife and their life.
Without having a reason,
life could never carry on,
but having a reason to believe
means anything you want,
you can go out and achieve.

Quiet

We all seek at times
a measure or two
of silken stillness
caught within the hustle bustle
of our daily lives.

The quiet that descends slowly
as summer sap oozing from a tree
to crystallize our moments
into tranquil harmony
that refreshes
our obliterating soul.

Dead End

Some roads are filled with dead ends
where you have to turn around
and go back,
retrace your footsteps
and take another route.
How many times in life,
have we gone down dead ends
and had to go back
to where we started
and start all over again.

Waves

The ocean waves curl
before rushing up the shore.
Their watery fingers exploring
before retreating back once more.
We stand bare feet in the sand
as each wave encircles our feet
and for a few moments, we feel
the waters felt by millions before.

Early Works - Unrest

As I walk trembling into the sea
all its lost secrets it reveals to me
as a poetic jest
before I enter an endless night of unrest.
If I look back at what might have been,
I might turn back,
but it will be too late
for this world is filled with hate.

How Can One Describe Beauty?

In a world where nothing is ugly,
how can one describe beauty?
The answer is like a twinkling star,
that seems to go on forever,
or that cache of gold,
at the end of every rainbow.
Describing beauty is impossible,
when everything is beautiful.

The Real Beauty

Everyone seems so intent on beauty,
but beauty is only skin-deep.
It is what lies beneath the beauty
that everyone, should be looking for.
The real beauty everyone wants to attain
should always come from within
and not the complexion of their skin.

Whenever Anger Appears

Whenever anger appears,
I like to write it out,
the same goes when sorrow comes along.
I write that out as well
as it always helps a little bit.
However, when happiness
rears its joyful head
I like to go along with it
for as long as it may last.

In Need Of Repair

With every happy heart,
there is a broken one
in need of repair somewhere.
One that holds only sorrow
and needs some tender loving care.
So if you see a heart like this
you know just what to do.
Wrap your love around it
and show it that you care.

Ghosts Of Our Past

Ghosts Of Our Past

We are haunted all the time
by ghosts of our past
for things we did long ago.
They remind us often
of the mistakes we made
and cannot amend.
These ghosts can come to us
at almost anytime
and we always refer to them
as our memories.
