Part Of Life

That old genius Mr. Einstein
Though his knowledge was immense
Did not have all the world's answers
But he had a lot of common sense.

That Don Quixote of La Mancha
So passionate with his solutions
Fought the windmills with bravura
Yet he suffered from delusions.

We cannot have the ready answers
Cure every ill that this world holds
But each of us can make life better
Let's do our part, let respect unfold.

This world will always have some trouble
That's part of life we all have to face
But each of us must be responsible
For all our deeds as one of the human race.

Cheerfulness

Cheerfulness is a virus that contaminates
Surrounding all in wondrous pleasant air
A sweet perfume like roses permeates
A sunny view of life that always brings in flair.

Cheerfulness is life's distinct pizzazz
A dancing mood, a musical joy of feeling
Of all human emotions, it is real jazz!
So fun to feel and so very uplifting.

And the wonderful thing for us to realize
Cheerfulness in one we don't need to spend on
It's always free and comes in many a size
Each day, in as many colors you can try on!

My Epitaph

When it's my time to go
I want no sorrowed tears
Lived my life the best I know
And did not waste those years.

I fought my earthly battles
And cried my human pain
And when all the dust settles,
I stand up once again.

Good times were not enough
One does not climb a mountain
And do it by sliding up-
The way was hard but sane.

I never lose my laughter
And love for things of nature
My trials made me stronger
And my losses made me mature.

Beyond Offense

What can Darkness do with Light?
The smallest light breaks Darkness so
It gives illumination for the Sight
And Discernment comes to show.

What can Salt do to things around?
Its very presence makes things salty
No motion required, this can be found
Salt affects anything - immediately.

Why does Truth shake the world so?
Indeed it reveals who we are!
It causes Anger and Pain to know
That we are all very unclean jars.

So if we had died into Jesus Christ
No finite room keeps baggage keeping
Emptied we are for His great prize
We do not need these where we are going!

Fragging

In war, to lose one's life
That is a noble thing.

There is a valid reason
To justify the dying.

But in a war to die
Not by the enemy's hands

Families can only cry...
Where does logic stand?

'Fragging's' just a term
That does not ease the pain

Tears in grief affirm
For how can we explain?

The war's been on too long
Men can fight awhile

His Royal Nakedness

All the great crown jewels
Never can make a man wise.
And all his good education may well
Mirage the False in our eyes.

All the flimsy wealth and gold
Can't hide the inner vacuum there.
A hollow character sadly told
His imprudence everywhere!

Youth is never a good excuse
For Actions betray its Source.
From those where Leadership takes dues
Decency's always the right recourse.

While all the world has Poverty
And the working class aches with taxes,
The web is having such a big party
Seeing His Royal Nakedness.

Hypocrisy

What plastic rules and feeble doctrine
Props you up in perceived authority?
All the while you live in ugly Sin
Mock God with your blatant Idolatry?

Self-righteous in your clergy gowns
But hidden there is fake piety
In all pretense you do vow down
To stone in worship Hypocrisy!

Dressed in your robes in grandeur
Souls fiery in hell and decay
Eyes laced in greed, for wealth adore
The devil laughs as you kneel to pray!

Go away with your worthless rituals
Dumb beads and endless sacraments!
Like a coin your face is a sick betrayal
Of what the Truth and Wisdom meant.

I Am Not Yet Dead, Read Me

I am not yet dead, read me.
For a moment spare some time to see
Yourself in this concise poetry
And there you may find a truth, maybe.

For all men tread the same life journey
Though some are more blessed and free
With wealth, and yet some are not happy
So common and plain is that theory.

For the simple pleasures that can be
Enjoyed and seen by you and me
Around us there is abundantly
God's Nature laid in all her beauty.

Happiness comes from love of family
And that does not cost a lot of money
Affection and care given sincerely
Will last all your life most assuredly.

A Gift You Can't Refuse

Will I in this lovely summer day
Write words that darken
Your time, waste away?
My choice is to enlighten!

Will I in this brief and finite life
Write words that burden
Your mind, filled with strife?
My choice is to brighten!

Words may not be enough
For a distant embrace
Friend, do not give up,
God is amazing in Grace!

I will to pray for you
That's a gift you can't refuse,
Whatever you go through -
Prayer has eternal values!

Soundtrack

It brings back those great years
Sounds of 'Perfidia' on strings
Sheer magic to listening ears
A great time for sweet remembering.

Just sleek music from those guitars
Will never fail to make my day
But the best one I have heard so far
Was Mark Knopfler, I must say.

It takes great skill, sharp precision
And a sensitive ear tuned to the beat
What they had was a consuming passion
Their music was more than just a treat!

So I rest the night with 'Sleepwalk'
Perhaps wake-up to the beat of 'Apache'
I'm happy to be one of the old folks
And guitar music's really best for me!
