The Better Friend
A man of good character is a better friend
Than a rich man who only loves his wealth
For the man with character will stay till the end
With his friend, in poverty or in poor health.
I have had so many friends in times of abundance
And only about two remained in Adversity
In life I discovered true friends of substance
Were not found in my times of Prosperity.
So when you are down and so all alone
And you find there is one friend who stands with you
You are most blessed not with what you own
But for that one friend whom you found is true.

While They Are Here
Life is too very short for hate
For time is quickly passing
And then the time will be too late
For family and for forgiving.
The heart in life can take so much
Of hurts it stores so deep inside
The wasted years in pain is such
That damage grows so far and wide.
Brothers, sisters not speaking
At Christmas time of the year
Parents, children, all are hurting
Healing must come while they are here.
Unspoken sorry cannot be heard
When in the grave they lie
So speak it now, go say the word
Don't wait until the day they die.

Pate Chinois Did It (Novelinee)
It's funny how love blooms with a new day -
births forth romance in one moment's surprise,
without much warning, traps the heart away
and stars will cover vision of the eyes.
So it was when she met that Quebecois
her little French relayed the message sent,
their mutual love for pate chinois
sparked an attraction that was eloquent,
and looks said more than what their words had meant.

Wrong Can Never Be A Right
While everyone has a right
Not everything can be done
For that will darken moral light
Of rules and laws there will be none.
While everyone can be free
Respect for others are always due
Freedom has a responsibility
We cannot do all we want, that's true.
Rapists and murderers can be free
It's their life to do what they want
The same thing with homosexuality -
It's against our laws, so you can't.
Whatever is wrong cannot be a 'right'
And the moral issue is this:
Of God's Law we must never ever lose sight
When He says it is wrong - it is.

The Answer
When life seems lost and oh, so empty
And all that's left is hopelessness
When even Love turns cold and dreary
And ever elusive is Happiness
There is a way, in faith believe
That He will always hear your prayer
The peace for sure you will receive
Christ Jesus is the only Answer.
He is the Way, the Truth, the Life
You will be made a new creation
He is our victory in strife
In Him alone is there Salvation!
-
'I have come that they might have life....and have it abundantly.'
(John 10: 10)

Dad's Lessons Passed On
He was not filthy rich
But had the depth of knowledge
That he had blessed me with
To face my trials with great courage.
Dad taught me the love for books
A quiet spirit in times of strife
All those years his lesson took
Me through the hardships of my life.
Teach a child the wealth of reading
To feed his mind, keep him from trouble
Values learned he will be using
To grow up wise and be responsible.
Dad's lessons I now try to teach
On the next in line there to impart
My children know their goals to reach
By keeping his lessons in their heart.

As A Witness
I find it really strange
That those who speak of God
Have had no evident range
Of His Being, and that's sad.
Like a blind man describing
What light is, and how
Bright and illuminating
It is to see...and to know.
But without knowledge of Him
Some speak in deep darkness
Delineating things at whim
Exposing vain emptiness!
For how can one speak
Of a God he never met?
Never encounter, never seek,
Yet presumptions there are set?

By the Fruit You Will Know Them
By the fruit you will know them
Not by the pious labels worn
For actions and words confirm
If a man has been truly reborn.
Labels do not mean anything
When inside content does not match
So never go on with presuming
What you see is true, just watch.
People can carry many labels
Wear masks of odd pretensions
The heart will always show and tell
What's their true spiritual condition.
When the LORD Jesus comes in the end
Each man will be weighed in true Justice
For God knows the ones to whom He will send
Into the punishment of that fiery abyss.

God Bless Mckay Hatch
some people insist
on cursing in speech
their words just consist
of language that breach
animosity and anger
bullying and such
they are not any better
And need curses as crutch
uplifting language
is never out of place
it will suit any age
and bless any race
thank God for a young man
who cared so much
let his club fill the land
God bless Mckay Hatch!

Encouragement - Double Acrostic
Each new day is a rare chance at LifE
Not merely an accident, lightly takeN.
Considering death is our cul de saC
Obviously our Fate, that's eventually sO.
Use each moment then to bless all round yoU
Remember on earth, you won't stay foreveR.
Always bring Kindness as a sort of mannA
Grace your words with love as a blessinG.
Every moment holds opportunity therE
Many are hurting, with words you can touch theM.
Even across miles, Goodness knows no fencE,
Now is the time for Man's care to be giveN.
Truly as the night comes, you sleep in contentmenT.
