Wallet Attraction

Many lives are ruined
By fame, money, and praise

And wealthy men attract
Like honey to the bees

Were they just ordinary
I doubt their own appeal

For the wallet is so very
Romantically nice to feel.

Trapped like willing prey
Caught in the woman's web

Their lives destroyed away
Lose all that they may have.

Be wary when you're wealthy
Of ladies who love green

Lines On The Old Man's Face

Definitive lines on his face
Convey the pathos of his life
One can see the painful trace
Of anguish cutting as a knife.

His unshed tears locked up inside
Stifled grief that left him torn
Eyes in blank stare try to hide
A father's sorrow yet unborn.

The years have not been very kind
Each day he ached for lost company
His beloved son they could not find
These last days leave him a memory.

War is cruel, unmerciful is Fate
For heroes are the dead and the lost
The lines on his face now sadly state
'My son had paid such a great cost.'

Guilt's Toy

A chicken does not lay a chick,
It lays an egg.
A cartooned heart can never beat
Though it is red.
A dozen bells grouped up
Can never be a gong
And sounds mixed just enough
Can never birth a song.
Doves that fly to many places
Do not make each landing 'home'
Copied titles and some phrases
Cannot be woven to a 'poem'
Words and verses when stolen
May give a moment's joy
But mark this truth that in the end
That messed up life is Guilt's own toy.

After You Leave

After you leave
Will I still breathe
Or will my heart stop beating?
With sadness grieve
The Love that's freed
And mourn it silently departing?

After you leave
Will skies be blue
Or will gray clouds be dark above?
When Earth receives
The pouring rain
As tears fall for a changing Love.

After you leave
Will Time be still
The days and nights shall cease to be?
No hourglass, nor hours to kill
No past, no future, and no memory.

To All Friends

Good friends who are faithful, they say
Are life's golden nuggets in our journey
We get to meet them as we go our the way
In this our pilgrimage that is temporary.

Good friends lift us when we are down
Give their hand to hold, in sad times, comfort
Like sunshine in dark days, a blessing to be around
They give us advice, for all that it's worth.

Good friends can be trusted to support and correct
They will never leave when we make mistakes
And so for all friends, they deserve respect
The bond we hold together, even Time cannot break.

Priestly Politics

These political manipulators
Will make you sick in the stomach
Dressed like holy alligators
Their selfish greed is a fact.

They've ruled and deceived my country
Dictated their whims and plans
Held our leaders like puppetry
Holding control with vile hands.

In robes of disgusting piety
They would sit like kings with masks
Snakes that crawl politically
I hope God will take them to task.

I pray millstones and huge boulders
Be tied to their necks, let them drown
Eternity will expose these pretenders
I hope they reap what they have sown!

The Man Who Has No Problems

The man who has no problems
My pastor once had said
Is not the one who had solved them
But the one who's already dead.

The man who has no problems
Is one who've lost his mind
He who has drugged his system
When peace he could not find.

The man who has no problems
Is he who drinks to flee
And drowns himself in alcohol
His escape from Reality

The man who has no problems
I doubt if there was one
For Life is full of challenges
Of tears and joy till it is done.

A School For Broken Hearts

Is there a school for broken hearts
So it will learn some skills
And so to keep and thus impart
On it a solid will of steel?

Is there a school for broken hearts
To learn how not to love again?
And thus preserve its brittle parts
From once again being broken?

If there is such a wisdom school
I am sure my heart would enroll
For it is such a repeat little fool
With Love, it has known no control.

Perhaps it will graduate - say 'No'
Each time that Cupid fires a shot
And save itself any painful blow
From a heartbreak it will suffer not!

Sometimes I Find Poems

Sometimes I find poems
Like they were jewels in the sand
So excellently written
A blessing to read and understand.

Sometimes I find poems
Composed like it was a work of art
The writer weaving word tapestry
As he writes diligently from his heart.

Sometimes I find poems
Laced with just verbal grime
With random musings or lost words
That to read them is a total waste of time.

So to the writers who value the pen
With all respect, I give you my salute
With the hope you keep writing again and again
And to this site your work you contribute!

Bankok's Ladyboys

The very sight of them dancing
Will deceive your human senses
Seductive shemales inviting
Will break your moral defenses.

They are Bankok's ladyboys
Men who wanted to be a She
Have made their bodies into a toy
Marred their humanity, obviously.

Beyond the facade of revelry
Lies a soul that has no peace
Behind the mask of fake beauty
Lies the question, 'Am I happy with this? '

Their beauty pales the normal woman
Their faces like that of myth goddesses
But look into their eyes and there find a man
Who is lost and tormented...and godless.
