Flibbertigibbets
He stalks in verdant Green
Treads in sharp acrimony
Pretenses left seen
Obnoxious Jealousy.
She basks in demure shame
Turns to vermillion Red
Embarassment is her name
She comes in times we dread.
That inevitable White visitor
Unwelcomed but received
Mostly when in terror
His name is Fear perceived.
And obviously we know
When times are of unease
He always turns to Yellow
His name is Cowardice.

Nightmares
So you will leave me now?
Goodbyes are dreadful nightmares
Unsaid but felt somehow
The sad discovery is there.
For Love was comatose
Not hearing nor speaking
With eyes that had been closed
Dead cold and so unfeeling.
Covered morbidly in white
Now quite ready to depart

A Lucid Dream Escape
I had a lucid dream
Not certain of waking or sleeping
I was inside another dream
Yet I was not sure of anything.
I tried to move my numb hands
Limp and paralyzed stiff
I tried unfeeling legs to stand
But I can't even move my lips.
My mind broke in a silent shout
As my eyes in quick vivid view
Scanned the darkened room about
If I was dreaming I had no clue.
Then pressure rested on my chest
And hardened breathing started
Gasping now, escaped that rest
I took in air and the dream had ended.

Cyber Bully
If you think I'll cower
Like a shrinking Violet,
I've got news for you, Mister -
You haven't known me yet.
If you think you are super,
A Know-it-all, scholarly
Good character is better,
With a heart of Honesty.
Vacuous words like mist
Never mark their point.
These are devoid of gist,
Like legs out of joint.
Say what you mean, or leave
My time is too precious, see!
My last word for you: Live
Get a life, you cyber bully!

Faithfulness
When someone whom you love
Does the same rash things you do
And so you feel a similar pain
In life, that is equality... and true.
For words and actions done or said
Mean nothing substantially concrete,
Unless one swears upon all dead
With faithfulness, seals Love complete.
Cherish the love you have that's rare
Love is a gold coin you spend only once
Foolish games and times you're unfair
May later forfeit your one last chance.

False Profits
Today is his death anniversary
He would have been sixty by now
But Death had taken him so early
And yes, I still miss him somehow.
I remember the doctor who spoke
Of why my brother died of cancer
He said he had drank too much Coke
It ruined his kidney and his liver.
But now they are changing recipes
These companies that think only of Profits
They don't care if they cause illnesses
And by their products our lives forfeit.

Why I Write
Sometimes I find my writings
Quixotic and unreal
A list of dreamy preachings
Subjective to what I feel.
In this world I grieve for change
For surely it will decay
And Good will be out of range
While Wickedness rules the day.
The signs of the Times are here
And man's heart turned to stone
Rebellious, proud, and with no fear
Of God Who hold this Earth alone.
Still I hope that what I write
May touch another life and bear
A fruit of change to strive for Right
And fight for what is Just and Fair.

Running The Race
Living life is like running a race
You have to go on and live each day
With courage and hope no matter what you face
Whatever the seasons that may come your way.
Life is a marathon as you keep on running
Each step is a choice and a gamble
The future is uncertain yet you keep going
The risks are many and sometimes you stumble.
But with family and friends by your side
You find strength to do it and go on
Running the race with God as your Guide
You find the finish line is there and you have won!

For Us With The Faded Genes
Are birthdays really happy
For us with the faded genes?
Calendars remind us daily-
Our time is short and lean.
The hair is losing color
While some may lose all of it,
Bones not strong as they were before
And sweets, we have to forfeit.
We learn to be keen on cholesterol
Be adept at counting blood sugar
Get rid of the fat, quit alcohol
We try walking, but can't go far.
We manage to deduct the years
As birthdays come to remind
We are getting plagued by aging fears
And Time we label... unkind.

I Drink The Colors
'What is it you want to say? '
The old man curtly asked.
'Don't color Verses gray,
With Darkness there unmasked.
There's too much of it around
To pain those who read you.
Bring Hope, let Joy abound
Let words of Comfort through. '
I drained my pen of black ink,
Dipped vibrant hues I see.
Let my pen, in colors, drink
Light to bless abundantly.
Indeed, subjects multiplied!
In endless flow of Beauty
With Happiness supplied,
My pen at last was free!
